Right! These bleeding heart liberals don’t shed a tear over an aborted baby, yet blubber for days over an elderly lion that has reached its lifespan limit. - I blame the cartoons (Disney & the like) for portraying animals as singing & talking, dancing & frolicking in the woods in little tutus & slippers.

Your post just reminded me of a remark made at dinner a few years ago. A college freshman loudly and proudly announced she had become a vegan to save the rainforest!

We all snickered at her behind our hands. Poor little skull full of mush!

Clearly they haven’t grown up watching the anthropomorphic Lion King movie.

what a stark difference this thread is from the one posted a few days ago here on FR where it drew out FR’s liberals with their hypocritical faux outrage in droves it appears

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3317715/posts

Below was my post there-

3000 babies MURDERED in cold blood every day, and no one bats an eyelash- Yet let a hunter bag a trophy and everyone goes mental- natives used to run whole herds of buffalo off of cliffs, there would be so many dead animals that they would rot before the tribes could ‘harvest’ them all. Animals are ‘led to their death ‘ DAILY as they go through a slaughterhouse so that we can go to the supermarket and pick up out juicy porterhouse steak all neatly wrapped up in cellophane and cleaned of all the blood and guts cover it during butchering-

There wasn’t this much outrage when Dr Death- Kermit gosnell was aborting live babies- the left was defending him for crying out loud- Nor is there this much outrage over the latest planned parenthood crap-

Noone cares to see the truth about supplying food for this country, and how much ‘waste’ and ‘collateral damage’ there is as millions of animals inevitably die of disease and heat, and cramped conditions, and lack of water, and etc etc etc- as ranchers try to keep up with the DEMAND for Yummy beef, lamb, pork etc- Noone says a word because, well, they like a good juicy steak- Yet let a hunter kill a lion and by golly he’s scum and according to some posters here and on twitter, he deserves the same fate- (Not condemning ranchers- there is always die off when raising animals for various reasons- it’s just a fact of ranching- the point being that liberals are masters at selective hypocritical outrage) these same people condemning the dentist would themselves bash a squirrel over the head if it got into their house, or a bat, or a rat- they would set traps for mice (or hire orkin to do the dirty work for them), and think nothing of spraying for cockroaches, ants, spiders, fleas or whatever, and think nothing of it, but because a lion ‘looks cuter’ they go into convulsions because someone killed it

Hunter kills a lion after his guide lured it out like many guides do- oh my, the horror- 3000 CHILDREN are murdered in cold blood every single day- and the outraged animal lovers yawn. Animals in research facilities endure pain for the sake of mankind, butt that’s ok- no one talks about it because by golly we love our mary kay, our underarm deoderants etc- (Note I’m not railing against test animal practices, just noting the hypocrisy of those ‘outraged’ that a lion was killed- outraged to the point of hoping the dentist dies)

Unbelievable- We have drug dealers killing and murdering our kids in the 1000’s., we have ILLEGAL ALIENS murdering our citizens In the 1000’s, we have ILLEGAL ALIENS sucking $500 BILLION dollars away from OUR legal citizens- literally taking food out of the mouths of starving poor kid’s mouths, and we have a president trampling our constitutional rights, We have terrorists sawing off the heads of Christians all around the world, and nobody says a freakin word- yet let a lion get killed by a trophy hunter and the world goes berserk- Psssst, folks, baiting has always been used in lion hunting in Africa- The bait is often dragged around a large area before taking it to a spot to hang it in a tree and a blind is set up for the hunter to shoot from- dragging it around aN area first ensures that the smell of dead bait is spread over large are to draw lions in- And many on this forum thread want this fella to die for doing what is allowed? Wow!

“Helpful hints and tips when hunting the African lion – Hunting the African lion is traditionally done in one of two ways:

One – by baiting. Bait is set up in much the similar fashion to that of lion, excepting that the bait is not all the way up in a tree to make it accessible to the lion. Drags are created and a blind / hide is built soon as the lion starts feeding.”

[[Wasn’t the uproar because “Cecil” was coaxed off of a wildlife reserve and then the hunter advised he was available to be shot.]]

Apparently people think the hunters stood a foot or two outside the ‘line’ of the reserve saying ‘here kitty kitty kitty’ while enticing the cat with food

A common practice in African hunting is to drag an animal around a large area, spreading the scent all around to give a scent trail for the lions to follow- and like you say, lions aren’t exclusively ‘reserve lions’ or ‘free range’ lions- they come and go as they please- The hunters did NOTHING wrong because they did NOT go into a restricted hunting area and POACH the animal illegally-

But because someone named this lion, all of a sudden it’s an ‘international offence’ for which many think the dentist should lose his life over (as per the comments I n the thread I linked to in previous post)

That just goes to show how depraved the left really are- They would jump for joy if the dentist met his end because one lion in Africa was taken LEGALLY

Problem solved- find another l ion and name it Cecil and folks can move on- There’s over 30,000 lions so I’m sure they can find another black-maned male lion to name- Heck- they can even build an enclosure for it to ‘protect it’ until it dies of natural causes if they like- then they can all feel super righteous about ‘protecting the species’ and can die happy knowing they ‘cared for a particular lion for it’s lifespan *(Of course they will have to hire hunters to go out and kill 1000’s of Kudu, antelope, warthogs etc, many of which will just be wounded and wander off and die slowly without ever being found- but by golly that will be acceptable because by gosh these folks are caring for a lion)

What about the Africans LIVING HERE - who keep a maimed, dying goat in a bathtub - cutting off one limb at a time, because they have no refrigeration. - true story from Michigan

When I read that story, I cried. And then vowed to NEVER EVER give another cent to 3rd world charity.

We keep helping these monsters to thrive and destroy what’s left of the wilderness.

The story of the Masai is well known to any of us who’ve been to Kenya’s parks. They are sub human.

When you end the hunting, you end the conservation.

I looked up trophy fees in Zimbabwe:

Big Five & Dangerous Game Trophy Fees
Trophy Name Trophy Fee 2015 Trophy Fee 2016
Buffalo $ 8 000 $ 8 000
Crocodile $ 6 500 $ 6 500
Elephant $ 22 000 $ 22 000
Non-trophy Elephant $ 9 500 $ 9 500
Leopard $ 9 000 $ 9 000
Leopard pre-bait $ 9 750 $ 9 750
Hippopotamus $ 6 500 $ 6 500

Trophy fees are providing an incentive to keep the animals alive.

As with many countries in Africa, in Zimbabwe big wild animals such as lions, elephants or hippos are seen either as a potential meal, or a threat to people and property that needs to be controlled or killed.

Mark Levin was conned. Killing lion over there is the same as killing a deer here.

I do photography- and the sites I post to are lighting up with photos about ‘Cecil’

Too bad they don’t fight for an actual valid cause like Kate Steinle-

It’s funny- these liberal scum immediately come to the defense of an illegal alien murderer- claiming he had a ‘tough childhood’ and ‘justifiable anger’ and that the courts should go easy on him- but kill a lion, and these scum hope the hunter dies-

It’s not a First World Problem. Only a small, crazy segment of America has a problem with this. It’s a Liberalism problem.

I think I heard on the radio during the news break a call for an international ban on international wild animals hunting.

These episodes of “moral outrage” are orchestrated for a reason.

“...let a rancher in Montana kill a [reintroduced] wolf or grizzly that’s preying on his cattle, it’s a felony and the outcry is deafening...”

There is such a thing as the Triple S Method.
Shoot, Shovel, and Scoot.
