Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker won a surprising nod in an informal straw poll of major conservative donors gathered by the Koch brothers operation last weekend in Orange County, Calif., according to sources familiar with the gathering.
In a closed-door session that included about 100 donors, Republican pollster Frank Luntz asked donors to clap to indicate their choice for the Republican Partys nomination. While Luntz did not formally track or announce the results, sources say it was clear that Walker got the most applause, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who received roughly the same amount of applause. The next most applause was for former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.

That’s so cool. I can hardly contain my zzzzzzzzz
Trump wasn’t there.
Everything I read, and heard up until now said Cruz was the one that blew the crowd away!
Where is Luntz getting this? Applause?
Or his he only counting candidates that were on site. Cruz did his speech by satellite.
I keep hearing from certain VERY motivated Freepers that Walker is not to be trusted.
I buy that with Rubio, Christie, and Jeb but Im still on the fence with Walker.
I’m a Cruz guy, I like what Trump is saying but think he is more likely to be a spoiler like Perot, and I think Huck is a fraud. Be interested in what others have to say on Walker.
I can just imagine the donors that were there,if Cruz was there i’m glad he did’nt get a mention. That would tell me they did’nt like his message.
luntz - misinformation
I don’t believe anything this guy puts out
How sweet. he’s the billionaire’s first choice ... which is the quickest way to my last choice.
Or Luntz did’nt like Cruz message?
Perot ran a third party run, he wan’t very inspiring, and America hadn’t yet become the mess it is now.
Trump is in the GOP, he is very insporting, and American needs a new path.
America needs to be for America once again.
I prefer Cruz over Walker.
Walker is at 12% right now and Cruz is at 6.7%. (That’s an average of about five [5 I believe it was] polls)
Others are very happy with Walker’s actions against the Unions. So am I. I am not convinced he’s the guy I want based on that.
I like Cruz. There are two issues that bother me about him.
As for Trump, I’m supporting him in that I want people to at least consider what he has to say, and see if he sticks with it.
Right now I like Trump because I think he can mow down the Left, the Media, the GOPe, and our idiots on Capital Hill.
I don’t think Walker or Cruz could, and that’s where I’m coming from right now.

I am pretty good at reading faces and body language and when Luntz speaks he seems like he is deceiving us by how he behaves.
Luntz seems to be a deceiver like Rubio.
Besides next to any of those speakers Cruz crushes them.
The only talker that come close to Cruz is Huck, he has a way of getting an audience with him, but he is a liberal Goper.
I don’t know if these rich donors are conservatives or GOPe anti Tea guys, but Cruz is the best they heard. And of course because he is self funded Trump doesn’t need to beg for money, he has his own.
Just more confirmation Walker is GOPelite all the way and not to be trusted.
Those good ole boys like that cheap mescun labor.
Republican pollster Frank Luntz asked donors to clap to indicate their choice for the Republican Partys nomination.Did he make them bark before he threw them a fish.
Just more confirmation Walker is GOPelite all the way and not to be trusted.I received unsolicited email solicitations from Walker, the email address is "support@mittromney.com"
The same from Bush's seniorita.
“Trump wasnt there.”
He wasn’t invited, the Kochs don’t like him. I’m beginning not to like the Kochs. They appear to be conservative analogs of Soros.

We have a winner!
Watch were Sheldon Adelson (sp?) drops his
Money. He wants the senoritas to work for
Next to nothing cleaning rooms at his
Casinos and their invading hoards of male companions to keep the grass cut.
That will tell you who has agreed to allow the
Mexification to continue.
Thats because Cruz, who was among the also-rans in the poll, had received some of the biggest applause during his Sunday presentation to the donors, while Walkers presentation on Saturday did not exactly electrify the crowd, though it seemed generally well-received.
I don’t want Walker getting stupid applause nonsense. I want him to get the damn job done which he is doing. Let Cruz get the applause, he seems to need it. Walker just keep doing your job and you will win this thing.
