This is Rose Monroe, the riveter whose wartime efforts inspired the famous motivational poster. She worked at the Willow Run Aircraft Factory in Ypsilanti, Michigan, building B-29 and B-24 bombers for the U.S. Army Air Forces. In her 50′s, she learned to pilot a plan herself.
