I believe Timothy McVeigh stated he would rather be executed than spend the rest of his life in prison.
He also tried to get his execution televised.
McVeigh was a but with something to prove. The majority of ordinary murderers play the “I’d rather be dead than spend the rest of my life in prison,” just as Jody Arias did, knowing full well it’s baloney.
