Trump and Fox said to be in talks over Monday interview
CNN ^

Posted on 08/10/2015 6:59:32 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Donald Trump and the Fox News Channel are in talks about Trump possibly appearing on Fox on Monday night, according to a source with knowledge of the talks.

Trump has been lambasting Fox for days, ever since he was challenged in last week's GOP debate.

It is "highly unlikely" Trump would appear at 9 p.m. with host Megyn Kelly, the source said, and that's probably an understatement. Trump has repeatedly and personally insulted Kelly in recent days.

But talks are underway about a Trump interview with another prime time host, like Sean Hannity, the source said, adding that nothing had been confirmed as of Monday morning.

In the meantime, Fox has dramatically ratcheted down its coverage of Trump. It hasn't covered Trump's criticisms of Kelly and the two other debate moderators, Chris Wallace and Bret Baier.

Trump's most recent tweet about Fox came on Sunday afternoon: "It amazes me that other networks seem to treat me so much better than Fox News. I brought them the biggest ratings in history, and I get zip!"

This is a true clash of titans. Fox News is the favored network of Republicans, and Trump is the Republican campaign front-runner.

Trump should insist on an apology by Fox first - not for him, but for all of us. We were entitled to a legitimate debate and not just a hack job.

Well said and an excellent idea to boot.

Can someone tweet Tau Food's terrific idea to Trump?

Greta’s Facebook page got over 22,500 likes for her question about where was the outrage over the sexist treatment of Sarah Palin and her daughters by the faux indignant liberal left

“Either by gotcha questions or rarely asking them a question.”

Let’s just say by not focusing on the issues. That neglect was horrible.

Greta is a masterful interviewer, one of the best. Kelly is an interrogator. Hannity is a BSer. So I vote Greta. I don’t think the studio has enough room to contain the ego of both BOR and Trump. LOL.

Sure was. Morning Joe said that Priebus wanted to change the debate formats so they could showcase Republicans and discuss serious issues like terrorism, the economy, trade, etc. And not gotcha questions like birth control and war on woman.

And yet FOX News starts off with, “Why did you call Rosie O’Donnell a fat pig?”

Worse, however, Kelly essentially made Scott Walker unelectable in the general with the abortion question. “Doesn’t that take you too outside the mainstream?” You don’t think that will be looped if Walker is the nominee, with a reboot of the War On Women?

So pathetic.

Strike what ? Spike Fox ratings again?

MURDOCH is all about ratings , not setting any record straight or being fair and balanced

Give them a Trump-Free rating cycle I say

All three Fox people were horrible, and pretty much towards everybody in one way or another. Either by gotcha questions or rarely asking them a question.

FoxNews was in a mode of "testing" the candidates with questions designed to get them to demonstrate how they might handle the media memes they will likely face from the MSM in a general election battle. It was in that respect intended as a legitimate and possibly even constructive tack on behalf of the eventual GOP nominee, albeit unevenly executed.

IMO, Megyn Kelly is a hard feminist. She takes personal offense to the kind of treatment Trump shows to women on his shows. I'm betting she insisted on the ambush at the beginning of the debate. Hence she let personal animus get in the way of objectivity and her sense of fairness. Getting Baier to do it was a means of obscuring that agenda. It was unprofessional and pushed my estimation of Baier down several notches. He seems otherwise a fine and dedicated reporter.

We are over our Fox News habit. We turned it off on Thursday night and haven’t missed a thing. We get all the real news on the internet. There is no reason to subject oneself to the aggravation of being manipulated by the TV media, including Fox News.

I would not have minded them pinning him down but I regret it was not on policy. Kelly claims her question was an important vetting feature for him but we all get it on character, we need the info on questions of policy.

Ever since he was railroaded in the dog-n-pony show.
