Gov. Brown Doesn't Want California To Use This Word For Immigrants
By PATRICK MCGREEVY Continuing his push for change on immigration issues, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a trio of measures Monday, including one removing the word "alien" from Californias labor code because it is seen as a derogatory description of those not born in the U.S. or who are not fully naturalized citizens.
Brown also signed measures allowing non-citizens in high school to serve as election poll workers and protecting the rights of immigrant minors in civil lawsuits.
These bills reflect a state that both recognizes and respects the diversity and contributions of all Californians, said Evan Westrup, a spokesman for the governor.
State Sen. Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) wrote the bill eliminating the word alien, saying the measure is necessary to modernize the labor code.
Alien is now commonly considered a derogatory term for a foreign-born person and has very negative connotations, Mendoza said. The word 'alien,' and any law prescribing an order for the issuance of employment to 'aliens,' have no place in the laws of our state and more importantly, should never be the basis for any employment hiring.

Yes, let’s call them “spreaders of love.”
Political Correctness to the rescue of the aliens.
Criminals is a better term...
More PC crap....illegal alien is the proper term
How about “undocumented border jumpers?”
Or Mexi-Terrestrials.
“Alien” is a LEGAL TERM with a specific meaning. That meaning is not going anywhere!
WTF! This is like saying you can’t say mother and father anymore... oh...
California is no longer run for the welfare of actual citizens.
More and more I see California as a failed experiment that should be put out of its misery.
We needed a Civil/Revolutionary/Mexican vs. American War YESTERDAY. This is total BULLSHIITE. Inching ever so close to just outright making it LEGAL for ILLEGALS to vote.
I don’t think they’ll be using the term “wetback” anymore either.
Illegal Invaders is my terminology.
There are a lot of liberals that get real upset about being correctly labeled too. But words have meanings regardless of regardless of if someone wants them to or not.
And if one tells you a given word offends them, you likely uses it properly.
Tell me how crazy this is
Free range, no-limit varmints?
Insanity is now a valid administrative strategy.
Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien!
Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien!
Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien!
Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien!
Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien!
Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien!
Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien! Illegal Alien!
It’s obvious they don’t like “alien”.
Illegal alien
Illegal immigrant
Undocumented immigrant
Undocumented worker
See?
Morons. “Alien” is Greek in origin and means “outside”.
