In the “old days” when I was middle aged, the MSM actually talked about things like the “deficit” and “govt borrowing”.
The reality is the Chicago Mob was able to offset Obama’s horrible economy via gravy handouts of borrowed money and win re-election in 2012.
Part of the issue, IMO, is that there is a lack of ownership and ethics. For example, how many people expect the federal government to pay off their student loans?
Ethically, it is completely unfair for the middle class taxpayer, who may not have a college education and are just barely making ends meet to pick up the tab for some “entitled” rich kid who made a stupid decision and has $200K of debt and a useless degree.
And the Dems will claim that they will make the rich pay but any smart thinking person knows that it won’t happen and that the middle class taxpayer will get stuck paying the bill.
Unfortunately, we will all suffer when the debt is uncontrollable and especially the poor who have spent their whole lives with their palms up looking for handouts.
