That’s what I’ve always wanted to know about this.
This “agreement” or “arrangement” is not an official treaty.
They did some half baked congressional vote at the behest of Obama, so that this is not an official treaty, which would require a 2/3 vote in the Senate to be legally binding.
But since whatever comes about will not be legally binding, the next Republican president can simply rescind this on Jan. 20, 2017, right????
The only Constitutional power a Pres can do concerning foreign affairs is enter into a Treaty, all this agreement $hit as outside the bounds of the Constitution.
I does not matter how official it is or is not. A few understand now, this President IS ruling by Decree. There is no Republic except in the structure that is still on paper. For the time being the USA is an Elective Dictatorship. For the time being.
And once Obama releases the billions held because they ARE ....cough cough....WERE.. a terrorist state, they're not going to give it back.
Given that a ‘Pubbie Congress gave Obama what he wanted, I doubt that any Establishment ‘Pubbie will reverse this. That is why I specified “with a pair.” After all, the vast majority of DC ‘Pubbies long ago had their spines and gonads removed.
Maybe. The deal was deliberately framed as "A Non-Binding Executive Agreement." It was then submitted to the U.N. Security Council and approved. If Congress disapproves the deal and doesn't lift sanctions, we'll be accused of "violating the spirit" of a U.N. resolution that "calls upon all member states " to refrain from "actions that undermine implementation of commitments" made in the deal.
As pundit Clifford D. May writes: "...it would be a grave mistake [for Congress] to set the precedent that the U.N. Security Council -- including such permanent members as Russia, China and such non-permanent members as Venezuela and Chad -- constitute a global government with the power to make significant decisions for the American people while the elected representatives of the American people are marginalized. If that isn't technically a surrender of American sovereignty, it certainly opens that door -- and, I'm afraid, removes the remaining hinges."
Of course surrender of American sovereignty to a socialist world government under the U.N. is precisely what Obama and Hari-Kerry have had in mind all along.
