Okay, I have (yet another) dumb question.
The USN has ordered 20 LCS, including 100 of this particular design. They appear to be lightly armed and lightly armored.
What exactly does the Navy plan to do with these?
Probably designed to escort the USS Cesar Chavez running taxpayer dollars to Havana.
Or at the least the USS George Jackson.
I can only assume that it is totally unarmed...???
Would you prefer a USS Arnold G. Schwarzenegger?

The ships were designed to minimize vulnerability with modern automated damage control systems to perform its mission, then withdraw from the area under its own power.[15]"
We should stop naming vessels after people, certainly live ones.
Crew them with lesbians so they may practice their littoral combat skills.

Like the F-35, these ships are nothing more than another shameful defense contractor boondoggle and sop to the various PC factions who have always wanted to emasculate the military. They are floating deathtraps for their crews.
If they ever come up against Chinese "Sunburn" anti-ship missiles or super-cavitating torpedoes they won't be "conducting an orderly abandon ship" or limping back to port; they'll be littering the bottom of the sea.

The general design is derived from a trimaran ocean going ferry which accomodates 1300 passengers plus tvehicles.
