A truly great President does not need to “create” a legacy, his or her legacy is their greatness. They could leave office and retire to the country, never to again utter a peep and they would still be remembered for their greatness.

Retirement was the best thing that ever happened to Jimmy Carter. Had he gone and did nothing his history in the books would be awful. At least now they can focus on Habitat for Humanity and still have some dignity. I think that is why Nixon will always be historically a disaster because he didn’t do anything post resignation.
