Ted Cruz: there is a 'war on faith'

DES MOINES - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) declared people of faith under assault Friday, rallying evangelical voters at an hours-long event and sparring with an Academy-Award nominated actress over gay rights at the Iowa state fair.

---

"Is the next victim of persecution your pastor?" Cruz asked. "Your charity, where you volunteer your time at a crisis pregnancy center?"

---

Here in Iowa, 57 percent of Republican caucus-goers identified as evangelical Christians, according to entrance polls. Cruz has been courting faith leaders here, dispatching his father Rafael, a pastor, to speak at events around the state and announcing Friday that he wants to recruit a pastor in each of Iowa's 99 counties to do faith outreach.

Cruz's Iowa campaign chairman, Matt Schultz, suggested Cruz was chosen by God.

"We're at a crossroads in our country," Schultz said, stating that God prepares men and women to stand up and fight at certain times. "Ted Cruz is the man who God has prepared for this moment in time to be our champion, to fight for our husbands, our wives, our children, and our grandchildren, for our country."

---

Cruz, a former Supreme Court clerk, excoriated the court in the wake of the gay marriage ruling and continued to do so Friday. The former solicitor general of Texas and a lawyer in private practice, he talked about two cases he won by a 5-4 margin at the court, one that involved the Ten Commandments at the Texas state capitol and a cross at a Mojave Desert veterans memorial.

“You want to know what this election is about?" Cruz asked. "We’re one justice away from the Supreme Court saying every image of God shall be torn down.”

Now I am not an English major but nowhere did the campaign dude claim Cruz was “chosen by God”.

As Christians we believe that God often prepares us for the trials we have coming to us. Big Difference.

It’s been going on long before that, but it has intensified since then.

The end-game of the Leftist agenda is tyranny: political tyranny (replacing the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, with the rule of the whims of man), economic tyranny (command and control economy), and spiritual tyranny (prohibiting Christian practice and the Bible). Obama has greatly accelerated this agenda by ardently promoting the spirit of anti-christ. By God’s grace we will reverse it.

Cruz's Iowa campaign chairman, Matt Schultz, suggested Cruz was chosen by God.

Nice little media trick isn't it. Nobody actually said it but we're suggesting that its what he meant.

I hope he can kick out the illegals, Muslims, homosexuals because the last few presidents that were declared “prepared by God” to do the same...didn’t do jack.

Exactly.

Kind of like the manipulation of sexuality. They were already trying when I was in high school in the early 80s when they suggested that all “normal” boys have homosexual thoughts.

Are Cruz and Trump secretly tag teaming? Trump comes in on the business side and Cruz hits from the religious side...two directions from which conservatives have consistently been attacked.

And, then both eventually come together as president/vice president, pulling their fans together.

Brilliant.

Actually, ‘the war on faith’ began in the Garden of Eden and has continued ever since, ebbing and flowing. Since the ‘age of enlightenment’ began in the West, evil has been surging, only subject to a few victories such as the 3rd ‘Great Awakening’ of Spurgeon, Moody, Finney, Azuza Street, et al., VE and VJ day. Few victories as of late, in what was once known as Christendom, though the Gospel is growing by leaps and bounds in the ‘Global South’.

Wow; I was in high school in urban NJ back then and the furthest they went was to tell us to not bully the homosexuals. I didn’t encounter propaganda of that strength, although they were starting in the freshmen classes when I was a senior with the notion that heterosexual promiscuity among teens was normal and bringing in instruction on the use of prophylactic devices.

We were rural farm kids and by the 1980s is was way to late to convince us that we might be gay.

What we are in is not a political war but rather a Spiritual War PERIOD End of Story. Until We Recognize this and Fix Yourself NOTHING else will matter!

We have allowed EVIL to fester, We have Allowed Wrong to be Called Right! and We have Called Right Wrong! This must change, but before we can change that we HAVE too Change Ourselves! We have to Humble Ourselves and Return to God! Then Ask Forgiveness for what we have Wroth upon ourselves and our Prosperity! Then as we cleans ourselves of our own Evils(Demon’s) We will have the ability to Return to a Good, Moral and Godly People!

No Election can do it for us!

Go Ted Cruz Go!

The Enemy is within and until we deal with that Enemy we will Never be able to Deal with the Enemy’s outside the Nation!
