DONALD TRUMP AND THE OTHER CLASS WARFARE
Frontpagemag.com ^ | August 25, 2015 | Bruce Thornton

The rise and continuing popularity of Donald Trump reminds us that “class warfare” is an eternal constant of democracies, for as Plato said, every city is in fact two cities, “one the city of the poor, the other of the rich; these are at war with one another.” But possession of wealth is not the only factor in this eternal conflict between the few and the many. The masses of course resent the elites’ greater wealth, but even more they dislike the assumption of superior wisdom and virtue that elites have always claimed as justifications for their status. It is this galling assumption and the anger it arouses in people that Donald Trump has brilliantly exploited.

Watch out for Bernie, his platform is based on class warfare.

6. But the grand nostrum will be a public debt…

7. It must not be forgotten that the members of the legislative body are to have a deep stake in the game.

8. (4) A great debt will require great taxes; great taxes, many taxgatherers and other officers; and all officers are auxiliaries of power.

9. The management of a great funded debt and a extensive system of taxes will afford a plea, not to be neglected, for establishment of a great incorporated bank. the use of such a machine is well understood. If the Constitution, according to its fair meaning, should not authorize it, so much the better. Push it through by a forced meaning and you will get in the bargain an admirable precedent for future misconstructions.

11. As soon as sufficient progress in the intended change shall have been made, and the public mind duly prepared according to the rules already laid down, it will be proper to venture on another and a bolder step toward a removal of the constitutional landmarks.

This is spot on. Its been clear for some time that the power class whether Republican or Democrat or media or academia or corporate/cultural elite are mostly in collusion. The GOP “leadership” are not really interested in defeating progressive liberals or stopping the double standard of politically correctness where on one hand Christians can be defamed and ridiculed and smeared in the ugliest of ways but one must always preface any comment about Muslims with “its a religion of peace”.

All one has to do is observe those worms in the GOP who gleefully tried to smear Trump as a bigot because he dared point out that huge numbers of criminals are coming illegally across our southern border which is a fact. Its also a fact that many citizens have been sacrificed on the alter of political correctness as these criminals are captured and released multiple times as if they are foreign diplomats with immunity rather than street thugs from Mexican ghettos and drug gangs. A friend of mine argued unconvicingly that its because that Democrats are so much better at the media which is why the Republicans premptively surrender. This doesn’t explain why the beltway GOP join the feeding frenzy and parrot the politically correct memes to destory their own. Then they have the gall to talk about party unity. We can talk about party unity when they stop smearing us liberty loving constitutionalists as racists, biogots, sexist, & homophobes. We may on ocassion call them rhinos but I think its pretty clear who the foul mouthed bullies in suits are.

So you're good with the Clintons getting filthy rich?

Okay, let me clarify. I don’t resent anyone’s wealth who has come by it honestly. Have the Clintons gotten rich honestly? I really don’t know. I suppose speaking fees are honest. Skimming off their foundation would not be, if that is what they have done.

At any rate, all I want is for the Clintons to go away. I don’t care how much money they have. I just don’t want them back in the White House.

There’s the rub. Very little wealth is gotten honestly these days. I applaud honest wealth but I’d like to see crony capitalists rot penniless in work camps.

I don’t resent anyone’s wealth.

A decade or so ago most Americans agreed with that statement. Not anymore. Most have come to the conclusion that they are victims of a crony-capitalist rigged game. The only question remaining is whether to bring the hammer down with the left hand or the right.
