My thoughts are that maybe delivery was imminent, and the doctor felt that time was of the essence so he brought out the big guns.
I tend to believe that the hospital would not have caved out of fear of the ACLU.
You may be right. There’s no way we can know one way or the other if we don’t have the actual medical facts.
