Obama has possibly set us up for Trump? Really?

Is this the best ya got cuban leaf?

No. It is a small part of what I have. It is a corner of the total picture.

imagine if Trump was not in.
IMO, it would be Bush all the way even at this point.
We would be screaming to get our candidate up in the polls.

Yeah, that is kind of how I see it, but I still see trump as us having a “tiger by the tail”.

It doesn’t always end well.

I wanted to come in here and proclaim you a "concern troll" but you have been here a few years and I don't remember any other posts by you that support that so I'll give you a pass this time.

I followed the link to the cartoon strip version of "Road to Serfdom" and I'm struggling to find a connection here. If anything, Trump is the complete opposite of the "strong man" you allude to him being.

Personally I think the Trump presidency can be a great one because Trump is all about going against conventional thinking and doing things differently. I sincerely believe he would put the very best people in place at key positions, as opposed to putting people in place for political reasons. When Obama named Shrillary as Secratary of State, do you really think he did that because he thought that that old shrew was the best person for the job? No! She was horrible for the job. He put her in that position to buy off the Clintons, so that they would get over the 2008 election and support his re-election in 2012. It was nothing more than a "quid-pro-quo".

Trump will not need to do that. He can put people in positions on merit, not as favors in exchange for favors in return.

What would be a catastrophe would be if Shrillary or Jebbie Bush got the presidency.

I say give him a chance. He might just turn out to be a smart and effective president. If he decides to become a strongman, then he can expect to be dealt with.

I watched him last night and it was entertaining, like standup comedy to an extent with a political angle. He drew a large crowd of thousands in New England. He’s saying what people are thinking. He’s not defeatist. That’s why he’s popular. Will that translate into a good President? I don’t honestly know.

I think Trump has actually has a desire to make America great again.
Everyone can see the destruction that unchecked inundation by illegal aliens is doing to to this country, but both parties are committed to continuing that.
Somebody has to stop them.
If that is all we get from Trump, that is enough for me.
I know he is not a conservative, but he seems to have found his way to some pretty conservative positions, the exact opposite of the ones calling themselves conservative when they back amnesty, commie-core and the like.

I will vote for Hildabeast before I will vote for ¡Yeb!

We don’t have to marry Trump but someone has to be President. The question many FReepers keep asking is, Is He One Of Us? Meaning revering the Constitution and the country the framers set up.

It’s the wrong question.

My question is, can he successfully fight the cabal running the country right now using their media as our “cattle” prod? Or he is part of the cabal? The cabal has both sides of the aisle enslaved to them by greed. Trump has allowed us to remember Of the People, By the people, For the People. Our kids don’t even have a clue; they’ve never thought about it and were never taught the Constitution and our Gd given power.

Trump and Cruz are two of the few public figures who want that for us, who mean to try and get that for us. What people believe at this point isn’t as important as what they can do and whether they can run the gauntlet of the very unfair media election system.

Ifs and buts...ignore anything after an “if” and anything before a “but”.

Do you have insurance? Is it because of “ifs”?

Whenever one makes decisions, they have to ask a lot of “if” questions.

It is prudent.

Republicans need to find the perfect, flawless person who is able to be everything to everyone 110% of the time for at least four years. Then we would all be happy and live in utopia.

As if the poster was saying that Trump is near perfect.

I am hyper aware of what is happening right now and the world is ripe for the “strong man”.

If you lived through the Carter years with double digit inflation, gas lines, and our embassy people taken hostage by Iran, we were ripe for a "strong man" at that time too. The "strong man" then was Ronald Maximus Reagan. Those hostages were released the same day he was inaugurated, the double digit inflation and gas lines became history during his presidency. It was like the country was under "new management".

In some ways, Trump reminds me of Reagan, speaking strength and victory back into America, instead of weakness, defeat, and political correctness. Strong men are not necessarily to be feared.

Here is what came to me a few weeks ago.

Obama pushed the political pendulum so far to the left that we could either get a Trump, Cruz (or a combination of either) to move it back safely to sane constitutional government, or we will likely end up with a Pinochet that will ram it all the way to the other end and nail it to the wall.

Trump has a gruff personality, but he isnt a danger of becoming a dictator, as unlike a CEO, you have checks and balances out the wazoo in DC. And unlike Obama, the other side will use every one of them.

I don’t understand Trump’s popularity. My favorites in the field are Scott Walker and Ted Cruz.

I’m with you, except I do understand his popularity. He doesn’t just resonate with conservatives. He resonates with the 99% and several other groups that are anything but conservative. He is establishing a coalition that may be as broad as Reagan’s was.

And remember, by next year we will be in a very different world. Even more so by next November.

So far, Trump is the only person beating the media and upsetting the elites.

It's the best thing that's happened in politics since we woke up the morning of November 9, 1994.

“TRUMP is our Putin”?!?

You really think that is a ringing endorsement of Trump?

I’d keep that to yourself in the future.

Yes, but I specified my particular out. And here is the deal: It is outlined in the link. Until someone reads the link, they really have no idea what I’m talking about.

Excellent post. You nailed it. And Obama and the Republican Congress have already shredded the Constitution, so there’s nothing left to lose. And if indeed this is a choice between Hillary Clinton and Julius Caesar (picture Trump with olive leaves on his brow) then I choose Julius. Obama has ruled unconstitutionally and shown every other politician how to do it. There is no guarantee this time forward that we won’t live under a dictatorship. My hope is that Trump can get this genie back in the bottle.
