Further to my movie critic Pauline Kael quote, she was also quoted as publicly saying in a speech: “I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater I can feel them”. Sounds just like Joan Walsh.

They are monumentally unknowledgeable about the realms outside their bubble yet consider themselves more worldly and, thus, more deserving to run that world, than the people who live in the actual real world.
