Better than than naming things after Marxists, like Martin Luther King.

It was Denali before it was named to honor a politician. I don’t like things being named for politicians and I especially don’t like the Feds telling states what to name their geographical features. Ohioans can rename one of their mountains “McKinley”. And Illinois, or maybe Kenya, can name a mountain in honor of Zero, if they so choose.

This name change fits into Obama’s world view that the US WAS composed and created by “old, dead, white (Enlightened) men” and that the NATIVE American, NATIVE Alaskan, NATIVE African, NATIVE Palestinian PLO tribes and peoples etc., are the TRUE OWNERS of the land and culture.

By calling the mountain after the white assassinated man, President McKinley, the leadership in 1901 USURPED the RIGHTS of the locals!!

God forbid!

Now a JUST RIGHT is correcting and old WRONG.

This is Obama’s world view and therefore fits into the stupid name change.

One of my first acts as President would be to change it back. Bet if it was named after a rat President this wouldn’t have happened. I don’t really care what the dem voting “natives” or the dems and RINOs who pander to them call it.

Mount McKinley

Sears Tower

Bombay, India

Bruce Jenner

Now and forever.

We in Alaska call our mountain Denali - the Great One - the name given it by our Native peoples. We live in the hills north of Fairbanks. On a clear day, when the leaves are off the trees, we can clearly see the mountain in the distance from our deck.

Does Obozo really have the constitutional authority to just willy-nilly change the name of geographical lamdmarks?
I'm fed up with this fool.
Congress needs to grow a set and put Obie from Nairobi back in his place.

Right. And Mexico City was Tehochtitlan before the White Devils came. And whatever the Indians (who were themselves named by the White Devils) called this country, it’s for sure it wasn’t the United States of America.

The feds imposing a name on a geographical landmark is just another example of political overreach. But reverting to the native name is conceding to political correctness.

Call it whatever you like. It has been Mount McKinley all my life, and Mount McKinley it will remain.

It was fine as it was. Some called it Denali, others McKinley. Doesn't Obama have two names too? Obama is just a dick.

I wonder if the idiot-and-chief ever considered how much this knee-jerk change was going to cost the aviation industry? I would assume that all world, sectional, an IFR charts will have to be prematurely revised and re-issued. All ATC software in every tower-controlled airport will have to be updated. All aircraft utilizing GPS navigation (that's most all planes flying) will have to get a software upgrade. Somebody needs to lock this guy up in the nearest golf course where he can't do any more damage. photo McKinley_zpskfarsa9x.jpg

It could happen,,,,

its happened down the road form here many many times over the years...

“If you’re driving down Highway One north of San Francisco don’t look for the road sign to Bolinas, CA, because this quirky coastal hamlet is the only California municipality without a sign to lead you from the highway to the city limits. There used to be a sign that said “Bolinas, 2 miles”— many of them in fact, but each of the signs put up in the last 20 years has enigmatically disappeared—the longest-standing sign lasting only 36 hours.”
