It’s an easy fix: when calls with little to no information like that come in the police should just ignore all of them. Quit responding. Let homeowners and citizens fend for themselves at all costs because the police are unsure which residence they should respond too. If the threat is real then (Oh Well) at least they didn’t shoot a dog or the wrong person.

Then they can show up after-the-fact and generate an inaccurate report for your insurance company.
