To: the scotsman

There was no waiting in my family.
My dad was a volunteer in the China-Burma-India Campaign. He was born in 1906 so he was actually too old to “step forward.”

My step-father, as a young man, saw war coming so he went across at Windsor, Ontario and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He had some flying experience and worked as a trainer for the lads who came to UK’s assistance.

Don’t take my retort too seriously, it was a sarcastic joke, nothing more.

I would have liked to have met your dad and granddad, they were heroes. God bless them.
