The initial start of the convergence of interests of the Communists (CPUSA) and the Moslems/Marxist Christians (PLO, PFLP, PFLP-DP) began in the US around 1977 when the precursor organization to the Palestine Human Rights Campaign was formed by the Zogby brothers (James and John), among others.
The PHRC brought in Communists/Marxists such Dave Dellinger (Hanoi Lobby), Noam Chomsky and the CPUSA/possible KGB asset Jack O’Dell, to their speakers’ lists, among others.
Then Zogby and others formed the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee (AADC), which featured the same communists as key members of their Board/Sponsors.

Former KGB officers who have defected have told US intelligence about this “convergence” as a Lenin/Stalin tactic from the 1920’s (to overthrow conservative regimes in the Middle East and the installation of Marxist Arab regimes).
However, Obama hired as an advisor (then fired, then rehired him) whose father was a Soviet asset - Simon Malley. The son is Robert Malley, Obama’s secret contact with Assad until exposed and then supposedly fired for illegal contacts. Yeah, my ass.
Obama’s other extremist Moslem contacts include Prof. Khalidi and the late Edward Said (a Marxist, not a Moslem).
As I understand it, Said never even claimed to be a moslem. His religious affiliation was Episcopalianism.
Ironically, in the early days chrstian Arabs (an oppressed minority in their own region with yearnings for universalism and a need to demonstrate their Arab identity) were very early supporters of the PLO. George Habash (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) was an Arab chrstian, and christians in Israel traditionally voted Communist, keeping a Communist as mayor of Nazareth for many years.
