Opening Syrian refugee 'floodgates' too risky for Canada: Harper
CTV News ^ | September 8, 2015 | Stephanie Levitz, The Canadian Press

OTTAWA -- Conservative Leader Stephen Harper cited security concerns on Tuesday for his refusal to commit to doing more to help refugees from the Middle East.

As provinces pledged their own funds to help alleviate the crisis, Harper deflected a question about whether he would send more staff to the region to help an already over-stretched bureaucracy.

Security is paramount and every potential refugee needs careful screening, Harper said.

"We cannot open the floodgates and airlift tens of thousands of refugees out of a terrorist war zone without proper process," Harper said in a Facebook question and answer session. "That is too great a risk for Canada."

Screening refugees is partially done through data such as digital photographs, fingerprints and other biometric data. Visa officers in Beirut began using biometrics in November 2014 but struggled to get going, according to documents obtained under Access to Information....

Don’t the Canadians have parliamentary elections in October? I’m sure Harper is looking at the voters reaction to all of this and probably figuring that most Canadians want nothing to do with these “refugees”.

Canada this year alone made it more difficult to immigrate with their points and quota system. Quota for 2016 has been decreased by at least 25% unlike this country. As an ex canuck, i still have contact with my buds at canada immigration. canada doesn’t want welfare bums so they screen them diligently..unlike the US.

A sign of intelligent life in North America.

And Harper and Bibi are huge pals. Canada is more pro-Israel than we are.

He wants them. Lots of them no doubt. Just as long as they’ve been ‘processed’.

Once that demograhic time bomb has been inserted into Canada it won’t matter if any of them have BEEN terrorists in the past...

“Harper makes Canada attractive to me.”

I helped him get elected by a respectable margin when i was district manager for the Conservative party in BC back in 06 before I immigrated here. Harper winning East Vancouver is like George Bush winning Berkeley. Almost unimaginable.

and no, you dont want to immigrate to canada. You’ll die in the hospital if you ever get sick,

Hurray for the prime minister.

I read the comments on this AP story on Yahoo News. They try to make Isreal and Hungary, Slovakia and Poland for not taking in the vipers, but the comments show, people are not taking this bunk.

The Latest: Israel blames migrant crisis on militant Islam
“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Europe’s refugee crisis is a result of militant Islam in the Middle East which he says sees people running from some of the worst violence since World War II.

Netanyahu was speaking Tuesday at a meeting with European Council President Donald Tusk who is visiting Jerusalem.

“Because of the onslaught of militant Islam in the Middle East and in Africa, Europe is facing the waves, a tsunami of people tragically fleeing from the worst crimes that humanity has seen since the Holocaust,” Netanyahu said.”

http://news.yahoo.com/latest-germany-budgets-6-6-billion-support-migrants-070653532.html

U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres says Europe’s lack of organization and an “extremely dysfunctional” asylum system has fed the refugee crisis on its soil as thousands arrive daily.

He would like to see 10 percent of the 4 million refugees in camps in the Middle East reinstalled in developed countries. But a first call to transfer 130,000 has fallen short so far.”

He wants us to take 10%. I say we make our own allies, which includes Canada and Isreal, and the UU and the EU can fend for themselves.

Well it couldn’t possibly have anything to do with their “religion” having declared war against mankind for the past 1400 years. Nope. The beloved Boosh tole us it is the “religion” of peace, and even ceded the executive office to one.

With its new immigration laws Canada, New Zealand & Australia have a chance. Attractive places for young Americans with skills who want to raise a family & grow old in a place that is still somewhat sane in the West.
