President Obama?! What are you doing on Free Republic? If this isn’t Obama why are you using his talking points?
The difference is that we should not be importing a class of people who are not self sufficient. We have lots of people in this country who are in need of help with their medical insurance and coverage and we have finite dollars.Several people on this board are in programs that range from VA Benefits to Medicare and Medicaid for any number of reasons and most here are native born.
Those who show up at the ER with no means of paying should be held for ICE and deported back to their countries of origin once treated, even if they are legal residents. They should be shipped COD by the cheapest means necessary. A bill provided to their countries Embassy along with a removal of the dollars from their aid packages would go along way to showing our sincere disgust with their poorly run countries.
We are not heartless to those who need help, we simply cannot provide for every sick immigrant legal or otherwise.
We as a republic, regardless of our wealth have no responsibility to take anyone from any other country. Those we chose to allow to come here should be significantly better than the average person already here. Meaning they should at the least be self sufficient, tax positive members of the community.

My point is that calling pre-paid Medicare insurance is just another word for the dole. We pay either way--either in taxes or increased premiums. Why would you take that for support of Obama's talking points? He once said something like that, but really, his idea is to hide these payments by calling them insurance. He says its a good thing, I say it's subterfuge.
By the way, the ER would be a great place to scoop up aliens for deportation by ICE, I agree.
