Actually, this is the same strategy Jeb used when his mother told him to clean-up his room:

“First I asked Mom for patience. Then looking like I’m working hard, I wear Mom down w/ a hopeful optimistic message, and finally I show Mom my leadership skills by ordering a pizza....all by myself.”
