I haven’t watched a complete episode of Saturday Night Live in years (no TeeVee in our home), but if you want to observe the degree to which the process of desensitization has progressed just compare the 1978 vintage SNL with the present.
In 1978 the drug usage and perversion were cloaked in innuendo.
Not anymore.

Yeah but it’d fit nicely - stenciled on the hull of a flaming canoe.
I know of a couple like that. The daughter of the wife married the son of the new husband.
IIRC, though, the son didn’t live in the same house with them (lived with his mom).
