WHILE THE ESTABLISHMENT DEMANDS PURITY, TRUMP EXPANDS THE GOP BASE
Breitbart ^ | September 15, 2015 | JOHN NOLTE

It is painfully obvious that Trump is already laying the policy groundwork for a general election campaign. He’s not looking past the nomination, but he is also not boxing himself in with policy proposals he won’t be able to wriggle out of should he win the nomination.

Basically, he’s telling Republican voters the unvarnished truth about where he disagrees with us on a number of bedrock conservative issues, and he’s gambling that enough will stick him because they trust him more than the 15 others on existential issues such as immigration, border enforcement, lowering middle class taxes, simplifying the tax code, killing terrorists, and giving as good as he gets from the corrupt media.

He is also counting on the fact that The Base hates #GOPSmartSet enough that we are willing to go with a more moderate candidate if it means bringing down the corrupt, feckless, insulting, useless GOP Establishment.

If he can do this, if Trump can win the nomination by being less than pure on a few key conservative issues, he will enter the general election in a position to expand the Republican base by attracting millions of voters across the Midwest and Rustbelt who for the last 25 years have been ignored and discarded by both Republicans and Democrats.

I’m talking about the working class in Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan — huge swaths of voters brutalized for generations by stagnant wages and factory closing; men who have lost good paying jobs to illegal immigrants exploited by members-in-good-standing within the predatory Chamber of Commerce.

These are Democrats — Reagan Democrats. This is where Trump believes he can expand our base. Note that many of those states are vital swing states,

Funny, the RINOs were critizing us for requiring purity just recently.

The article makes sense, but the headline does not. The only way I associate “purity” with the Republican Party would be in reference to bovine excrement.

Trump can widen his base specifically because he is not a conservative with core principles. He is a salesman and a damn good one but if elected I suspect the tingling in conservative legs will give way to urine rather quickly.

Being a reflection of the Democrat party causes the GOP to be “Purist”?

Really?

No sale.

I wonder if Karl Rove is getting over his hangover from the aftermath of the beating that Donald rightfully gave him?? These RINO GOPe types are going to have to learn to fight for a change...something very new to the Republican establishment.

It is going to be very interesting to see how The Donald deals with voter fraud. Republicans roll over. Will he?

Ironic that Jeb Bush said at one time that he might have to lose the primary to win the general. It made no sense at the time but now Trump seems to be not losing the primary but leading people to the middle. I’m still in a wait and see place on this.

We need JOBS.

NOBODY can win without a thriving economy. NOBODY.

THAT is the bottom line.

Of the various labels we attach to politicians, such as liberal, conservative, democrat, Republican, RINO, commie, etc; I believe none of those fit Trump.

The best way to label Trump is AMERICAN. He’s not a professional politician and simply does not see government through the Uniparty establishment eyes.

He’s the unBush, the unHillary. Unlike that pair, he wants to see America great again.

That’s why he connects with the average American.

Go Trump Go!

Basically, he’s telling Republican voters the unvarnished truth about where he disagrees with us on a number of bedrock conservative issues...

This is a lie. If this were true, I wouldn't support him.

When folks publish stuff like this, they have no idea what it's doing to their trustworthy quotient.

I'm making a list. These outlets are not going to be happy with folks like me to have come to recognize them for what they have become.

Dead to me.

If Trump can start the machine that destroys political correctness or multiculturalism then I am all in. I see him as a stepping stone.

He is taking to the elitests hard. Did you see what he said about CEO pay? Think it through, have you ever been perplexed that so many large corporations that are based here in the USA support liberals who want to ultimately destroy this country? Why is that?

Trump is not owned by anyone that I can tell. He is obviously not socially conservative but he knows how to make things work.

No, our conservative legs are not tingling. We see Donald Trump clearly, we know there are a number of issues that he is at odds with us, and that he is going to do some things we are not going to like very much. We are not blind and we are not sheeple. The GOP leadership is making an enemy of Donald Trump, if he triumphs that will be the end of them. And that is worth a great deal, that enfranchises all of us in the future! And Donald Trump is addressing another very important issue, and that is that we need to stop this massive invasion of illegals. The other issues dear to our hearts can wait a little bit, we need to deal with this first! (Of course we also need to deal with the spiritual corruption of our nation as well, but certainly there is nothing stopping us from being on our knees in prayer, before God.)
