The Marines made it known this week that they see the idea of women in combat as a disaster waiting to happen. That contrasts sharply with how the Army has approached the topic. It puts the Pentagon in a potentially tough spot.
Washington — This week, the Marine Corps left very little doubt about its view of women in its combat ranks: It does not want them.
A study by the corps released Thursday painted a bleak picture of the effectiveness of women in combat, suggesting they are weaker, more prone to injury, less adept at shooting weapons accurately, and their presence was a potential catastrophe for unit morale.
The day before, an opinion article penned by a retired Marine Corps general suggested that the “mysterious chemistry that forms in an infantry unit” included “clearing the urinals” and “nights of hilarious debauchery” – precluding women.

The Israeli Army gave up having women in combat units. What makes us so much smarter?
As I recall the IDF sent the sexually integrated units into battle and within hours determined it was a no-go and pulled all the women back. Israel is intent on winning military engagements. the US is intent on ceding power and real estate to whatever enemies it can find or create.
As one who has served in both the Marines and the Army, I can honestly say that the two are VERY different.
My entire time in the Corp was in units with no women. We had very few problems. When I joined the army my first unit was all men (combat engineer). We had few problems. Then someone got the brilliant idea to add women to the mix and we had a whole bunch of issues almost immediately.
I am close to believing that women don’t belong in the Corps at all except my wife was in the Marines also. As for combat, women do not belong in it (my wife agrees). Aside from the incredible physical differences between the sexes there is also the emotional difference.

Sure, try to imagine women on Guadalcanal slugging it out with the Japs, hand to hand, in the tropical conditions, taking the casualties they did, where at times the actions of a single man made the difference between holding the line or collapsing with wave after wave of Japs throwing themselves at what is left of your defensive lines. I can’t.
There is an easy fix to this. Have platoons made up of only women. And platoons of only men. Figure out what happens when they go against each other through extensive drills etc. Then if the women can compete with the men, its time to change the olympics and get rid of women only events.

This reminds me of an essay I sent to the United States Naval Institute they didn’t publish when the issue was DADT.
“Yet military operations are not conducted in garrison, and offer no opportunities for off duty or private time. The current law recognizes maintaining high morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion requires extraordinary restrictions. All military organizations exist to serve operating military personnel locked in small task oriented units, forward deployed, and continuously facing extraordinary stress if not actual combat. At the pointy end of the spear, they face environments characterized by sacrificial, primitive and intimate relations. Such environments are inherently chaotic and brittle and can only be overcome by totalitarian leadership unimaginable in pacific situations, but mandatory throughout the military.”
Maybe if the Marines were men first then turned into bruce jenner.
Jenner is a man. A man who wears makeup and had his you know what cut off.... but genetically, he’s still a man.
Certainly not one with any Faith or Natural Law based moral compass!
