Since nothing seems to have worked in attempts to stop Donald Trump, his rivals tried a new strategy at the second Republican debate: everything.
It didn’t make Trump go away, and nothing is likely to have happened that would make his growing support suddenly crater.
But Trump faded for long stretches -– and seemed more vulnerable than he did at the first debate, in front of a far-more raucous crowd. A tuned-in public saw a frontrunner with limitations in sharp view -– and who seemed to meet his match in the only female candidate in the field.
The pile-on started early, when Rand Paul said he wouldn’t want “someone like that in charge of the nuclear arsenal,” and called Trump a junior-high bully who calls people “short, tall, fat, ugly.” Scott Walker piled on to say Trump was using Democratic talking points, and suggested he would “take a country into bankruptcy.”
Jeb Bush found a new line of attack for the man who is defining outsider status: He called him an insider who pushed a “special interest” in Florida. He also called on Trump to apologize to his wife. (He didn’t.)
In perhaps the debate’s most memorable moment, Carly Fiorina did the unfathomable –- winning a, well, face-off with a chastened Trump, even after he backtracked to call her a “beautiful woman.”
Trump wasn’t quite neutralized, but he somehow didn’t dominate.
Trump denied, insulted, and attacked right back. While now praising her looks, he called Fiorina a “catastrophe” as a CEO.

All those who hate America are calling that iCarly chick the winner. That includes commie Van Jones of CNN, Tokyo Rove of Faux and mooselime Cenk Uygur of some obscure lefty blog. Boss Jim nailed what that wench is all about when he rightly characterized her as an abortionist and big government statist.
Jeb foolishly thought he could shame trump into apologizing to Columba (Jebs wife) for comments Trump made against illegal immigrants. Jeb should have known that you can’t intimidate Trump in that way. Jeb said “Would you please apologize to my wife?” The Donald simply said “No!”. Jeb was once again standing there with egg on his face.
They’ve declared him dead 10 times already. Somebody new might be in second place tomorrow. That’s it.
From what I hear, first place takes it.
I am saddened that it won’t be Cruz. By far and away the brightest.
Is it me or does Walker have no spark? guy’s done a lot but just doesn’t excite me.

For me, it’s Trump’s total disregard for the political BS that has my attention.
Trump is the disruptive candidate.
The media is pushing for this bought and paid for politician Fiorina because they want to use her as an attack dog to take down Trump. The rich internationalist donors are switching to her and Cruz’s pack also donated to her remember that?

We do not need another “socio-political experiment”, i.e. “first woman president”.
We need a relentless man, a born winner with guts.

If it took the whole pack to beat up on Trump, that tells me it takes all of them to measure up to him. Especially since it seemed like that was the “plan.” Even Rand couldn’t define himself without slamming Trump.
Frankly, I’d rather vote for Cruz or Walker. I want a candidate with a proven record of standing up to Dems. I do think Trump can handle the job. I just think he’s going to disappoint a lot of his supporters if he gets in.
But if it’s down to Trump against Hillary or Sanders...no question. Hail to the Trump!

Conservative Treehouse pegged her from the start. Trump knows who she is and Mark Levin said Michelle Bachmann emailed him about her and said to look at her record. She is a moderate and not an outsider either.
Well she did win. Name calling doesnt change that fact nor does flooding flashbpolls.
I am sure you and other Trumpettes will disagee vociferously even when polls start to reflect that.
I didn’t listen to the entire thing, but what I did hear - I was screaming at her to shut the he** up. Her motor mouth never wanted to stop. I heard that Christie said something about this. Good on him. She was put in that place unfairly, and is the Barbie Doll of the RNC. They couldn’t take Trump down with Jeb, so they are trying a different tactic - using a woman. Sickening!

There’s a lot of time left and the race has hardly begun. But I think the candidates are in an important test. The one who can get past Trump while winning the hearts of the base will be the next President.
Bush might take down Trump with a bunch of gotcha games, but he’ll have a tougher time winning a base that sees him as just another shark in the tank.
