I expect he will be able to yammer on about his poll numbers like a buffoon for a few more weeks/months, but in the end he is highly unlikely to be the nominee

That's what everyone has said since he started. I expect that they'll be saying this up until the convention no matter how many states he wins...

Yeah, you’re right. I hate that Trump’s debate skills aren’t as polished as the career politicians/paid speakers are.

If he’d just spend less time running multimillion dollar businesses and hone those debate skills, he’d be a real winner.....like ¡Jeb!

EVERYONE else on that stage can either phone it in to staffers, or their wives or hubbies....IOW they have day jobs that allow them to polish their speaking skills and/or refresh their botox.

I am amazed at how Trump can keep up the pace he’s going at.

“No, Trump is a statement be SOME of the Republican voting base who are susceptible to falling for cult of personality types”

Prepare for disappointment as Trumps only problem is sewing up the GOP nomination. His appeal crosses party lines and demographics. He will win a general election in a landslide. I hope you are not suicidal because you are in for a shock. LOL!

“She reminds me of every bad, overbearing, cruel female boss I’ve ever worked for.”

I kind of suspected that most women would dread having her for a boss. They could probably make a movie about her. Fiorina wears Prada.

Which is kind of sad, considering she started at the secretarial pool level.

Is that like having a mailman for a father?

I can see how Carly climbed the corporate ladder. She talks slick, presents well and is aggressive.

That said, until last night, she has not been asked on stage to answer to the fact that her judgment wasn't very good regarding HP and Lucent.

Watching her last night, I could have sworn that she knew all the questions to be asked and had perfectly planned answers for all.

Two things got to me. One was about the military when she started going on about how many divisions etc, blah, blah. I figure she got all those stats from her buddy McCain. They were done with that question and she started blurting it all out to try to impress people. That was weird.

The other was at the end when asked about what America would be like with you as President. Carly went off on that totally scripted lofty memorized spiel.

The others responded as though they didn't know the question was coming and came off normal.

A group of neutral observers

What is wrong with that term? While I do not doubt that there are potential voters, out there, who are actually neutral at this point, as to the Republican candidates; how would one find a "group" of same, who would just voluntarily agree to spend three plus hours, watching candidates, of whom they would have had to know next to nothing, to be truly "neutral?"

I could embellish my point; but I suspect that there was nothing "neutral" about any of those voluntarily participating in this project.

Not sure why anybody would see Trump as some big winner last night

He did not need to win to be the winner he just need to not lose and he didn't. He is clearly the winner only because all the others are losers.

For good or evil the people have rejected the career politicians and most here recognize that we have an opportunity to tear up the old line GOPe with little understanding of what will replace it. It seems a risk worth taking.

Few here would want to hear it but if you could put Cruz in Rubio's persona you would have a runaway candidate. Perception is more powerful than substance, sad but true.

It’s as if Melanie Griffith became like Sigourney Weaver in “Working Girl.”

Not saying she IS a bad boss, just that she has the demeanor of most of the bad female bosses I’ve had. Hmmmm...maybe that’s the persona Trump was talking about!

Rubio had a grasp of foreign policy?

What debate was that?

I’d tend to agree. I was actually quite impressed by Fiorina. And heck, I can’t stand Christie, but many of his answers were very good, so that changed my opinion a bit (but I still don’t want him as a candidate because he’s too Obama friendly).

Cruz and Walker had good ideas but just can’t present them very well, or perhaps are too much “one idea” people.

Even Huckabee came out with a couple of good things. Rubio is a very good speaker, but he seems too young. Trump looked the way he always does, full of bluster, personal attacks and not much substance. Bush was as always, clueless. Rand Paul was Rand Paul. I thought Carson, alas, is history. And Kasich never even made a bubble rise to the surface.

This is an interesting comment. My impression was that she looked mad all the time. Did not give off good vibes.

And why are women always given special consideration? One commentator said that when it comes to women you never make fun of their looks. Why? Trump is always laughed at for his looks. Why this double standard?

Yes. Fiorina is probably like other high-achieving female bosses I had in another life - some, just like high-achieving male bosses, were hell on wheels, but many of them were actually quite demanding of excellence and if you could do it, they would defend you (and promote you).

In my opinion, the better female bosses demanded excellence more than the males (who I think were threatened by it), but this is not a bad thing and encourages competition and striving. And they did reward it.

It’s amazing. You don’t have to agree with a candidate to recognize that he or she have an outstanding intellect and ability to speak clearly and concisely absent a teleprompter. All the candidates up there were very smart and represented their portion of the R party well but Cruz, Fiorina and Rubio to my mind are a level above the rest intellectually.

Now that ignores the charismatic portion of their selves where Trump is clearly a cut above but man you would either have to be dim not to recognize the intellect up there.

I’ve wondered about that, too.

I know he had to of taken on a huge debt to start BlazeTV and he, at one time, had big plans for *Beckland*.... a production lot akin to Disneyland. Not sure how much he’d invested in that venture.

Something is not right, though.

Not recognizing that Rubio has an extraordinarily good grasp of foreign policy says nothing about Rubio but volumes about your opinions.
