I have mixed feelings about National Conceal Carry. I am not sure how it would work. Shouldn’t it remain with the states? 2nd Amendment Foundation has been making great strides in this area.

You know what happens when the Fedgov gets its nose under the tent.

For the other program, I am more interested in hearing what cuts he will make, not new programs.

Donald, don’t be a bernie.

The second amendment is an incorporated right just like the first amendment. A state does not have the legal right to deprive you of that individual right. There is nothing wrong with using the power of the federal government to compel states to abide by the constitution. That’s what this election is all about IMO.

As someone who travels quite a bit and confined most of it to the US, I'd love to see national concealed carry. For a minute of two. You're both correct, it's a state issue, and there are states I avoid. Not just for concealed carry, but transport. DC and Maryland come to mind. They won't get my tourist dollars, but I don't want the Federal government regulating this.

For those who say state regulation of carry is a 2nd Amendment violation, I'd suggest that is the issue. When you advocate Federal regulation of concealed carry, you've conceded that argument to the Feds, and open the door to Federal regulation of the issuance of concealed carry permits. Or at least permits to be recognized. Bad idea, other than those who consider 280 hours of instruction, perhaps, reasonable.

The part about "shall not be infringed" means that no state/county/ward/city should be able to deny the people. When it comes to universal constitutional rights (as actually laid out in the Constitution), individual States should not have a say as far as infringing the rights.
