Quit being afraid of the big bully. Just do it! If you do the right thing we have your back. Make an attempt towards balancing the bloated budget, set some priorities (if PP falls out so be it), and be honest! Again, quit worrying about what the big bully might do and act, but don’t act stupid!

The GOP leaders should be articulating that they ARE NOT shutting the government down. The HOR has voted to defund Planned Parenthood because of PP's involvement in selling body parts from infants who were or could've been live births, for profit.

Obama will shut down the federal government (ie: close the parks and monuments, many which would make a profit over a holiday weekend) if he vetoes the budget.

It's pretty outrageous that Boehner and McConnell are still in leadership rules when they refuse to make that clear! Blame the make-believe conservatives in DC who talk their conservative game but let those two Obama enablers stay in leadership roles.

Would you be willing to take personal responsibility for infants who are slaughtered because the government was not shut down over the issue, NOW? Does that make you an accessory to murder?

I don't see any morality whatsoever in saying put the issue off until there's an election. If Obama vetoes the budget, the blood is on his hands.

The babies are still being killed. That's not even the issue. The protest is that they are being sold for parts.

The problem is, of course, abortion itself. And it's legal. Overturn Roe vs Wade.

Congress’ Republican leaders face stark tests as they fight to keep the government open past month’s end, amid fears a shutdown could imperil their party’s White House ambitions.

Stupid bastards. They feared that the gummint shutdown in 2013, caused by Ted Cruz would give the House and the Senate to the demonRATs in 2014, what happened?

Now they claim, they never said that...bullshit.

It is the same cry now as back then, "Please Mr. Bear, don't throw me in the brier patch".

You will notice that when the government “shuts down”, the only offices and services that close are for Veterans, Parks and Memorials, and targeted activities that cause the most impact to voters.

The fat cats of the government welfare program, including the three braches of government keep on sucking us dry.

McConnell needs to sue his proctologist for removing his balls along with his polyps.

“If you do the right thing we have your back.”

I think it’s time to realize that the “we” in your equation is no longer a factor. The mainstream of the American people have the least influence of any factor in any debate or legislation. It’s been that way for a while now. I would go so far as to say that the mainstream of the American people are the smallest factor in the coming elections if they are any factor at all. The influence lies in the concerns of LGBT, BLM, the MSM, illegal aliens, Feminists, and Environmentalists. Alone, they would constitute little threat to the values and character of the nation. Together, they constitute an almost certain death of America as we know it and the birth of a Communist/Marxist regime that bears little or no resemblance to the nation we have known.

That doesn’t mean that I disagree with your exhortation to do the right thing and stand up against the bullies. It’s the right thing to do even if it’s the last thing we do.

You left something out. The flawed roll-out of Obamacare. Now which had a bigger influence, the shutdown or Obamacare? Shutting down the government is not a viable strategy.

Because it’s MUCH easier to pass an all-in-one/nobody-has-EVER-read/arms-easier-to-twist/bribes-easier-to-give/sucker-the-public-and-voters ‘budget’ than a dept-by-dept approach which would show just how broken the whole house-of-cards that is called D.C.

I mean, it’s not like Congress balks about the Exec. giving $X to ABC, or authorizing payments of $Y to DEF...Just chalk it up to ‘emergency’ spending and tack it onto the deficit, right?

Does no one on the hill have the balls to say

“These bills we’re passing fully fund government. If the democrats want to block fully funding government because they place a higher priority on funding abortion, let that be known.”

Better than term limits, which requires a constitutional amendment, is a law that prohibits outside income (other than personal farm, business, etc.) and gifts other than from direct family members, AND for five years afterwards. Yea it woul require these cronies to pass it. But it is the root of the Washington cronyism. Term limits would only exacerbate the problem quicker.

This bill would not shut the government down. That man would shut the government down by his veto.

While I don’t disagree with your basic point, it seems to me that there is another point with regard to this issue (and actually many other spending decisions made by Congress).

Specifically, it has to do with whether the government (taxpayers) SHOULD pay for a particular program. IOW, even if it’s technically “legal” to do so, does that mean that the taxpayers should be asked to pay for it?
