Cruz seems to have woken up MUCH FASTER than anyone else in the Republican Party. He’s now enjoying the ride, moving ahead, without the media searching through his anal cavity yet.
I have no doubt that Cruz will be perfectly happy being Trump’s VP for the next 8 (or 4) years, and then moving up. He’s young, why the hurry when Trump will do the dirty work for him regarding cleaning up the country?
Donald Trump is for bringing back jobs to America.
He is alone in saying that, and everyone agrees with him.
All of the other candidates, are sold out to the money they rely on, which is offered by donors who are selling out America.
Bring back jobs. That is why Trump is doing so well.
It is very simple.
“”Saturday Night Live” was in vogue back then and I slowly came to believe conservatism needed a more popular presentation of its ideas with comedy and satire. “
There really is a huge audience hungry for conservative views and traditional messages. But the venues for reaching mass audiences are 90% sewn up by liberals. I stopped watching TV ages ago and don’t own one. I cancelled my satellite radio because the comedy, for which I’d subscribed, was 90% anti-conservative and 100% not funny. (The not-funny was evidenced by the “comedian” delivering a “joke” and hearing the audience applaud rather than laugh. The audience agreed with the view expressed, but it wasn’t actually funny.)
I see things differently. Cruz maybe doing just the right thing. Keep a low profile, let Trumps clear the board, the jump back in if Trump falters. I personally think (and hope) they have already teamed up. 8 years of Trump (maybe only 4) then 8 years of Cruz would be epic.
No candidate is being eviscerated.....torn apart.....daily....like Donald Trump......from Republicans and Democrats....and Fox News
Even here on FR the ugliest, vile words are used!
Why would any man put up with this UNLESS he truly loved his country and wanted to help turn her around.
This man could retire to his lovely town home and sit by a cozy fire, with the adulation of his wife and five outstanding children
...and yet, daily, he has to slug it out against those who hope for America’s downfall.
if you didn’t see the headline about what South Park does to him, which reduced me to tears ( and I don’t even watch South Park)
.....you need to.....and get an idea how insanely evil this is all getting
PLEASE PRAY FOR DONALD TRUMP!
.....for his stamina.....for his good will.....for his SOUL!
The ONLY guy, other than Trump, that does NOT have any fingerprints on anything happening, or has already happened in Washington, D.C., is Carson.
Jeb? Bush has shot his load with his ideas concerning the Second Amendment, illegal invasions of foreigners, and the healthcare debacle.
He has a record as a failed businessman.
He is the remnant of another stinking American dynasty that needs to fade into oblivion.
I think that you are missing the larger agenda, and I will ask a few questions to drive that home.
1) Cruz is quietly going about his business and garnering supporters and laying a solid campaign framework. Why would Cruz seek to enter the limelight now still 5 months from the first vote being cast?
2) Cruz has not attacked Trump nor even mentions Trump in his speeches. Why?
3) Trump doesn’t mention Cruz or any position taken by Cruz. Why?
The key here is that I believe that Trump and Cruz have a gentleman’s agreement to not work against each other. Not to poach campaign staff, or speak of the other. In this way they both benefit. The agreement: if not me...then you.
Trump can go out and be Trump. If he wins great. If for some reason he should falter, where are Trump’s supporters going to go? Straight to Cruz, that’s where. So don’t fret. These two guys have this worked out somehow.
Cruz has a solid staff, and a good organization, and he is neither rising nor falling in the polls.
In 1980, Reagan didn’t even announce until November. Cruz is keeping his powder dry, and is able to make no unnecessary enemies without veering from the conservative message.
There are no votes until February.
You might be surprised. These two could mature into being decent hosts for conservatives to have the opportunity to get their message to those viewers.
“Did you see Jimmy Fallon’s “Trump vs Trump” segment?”
No TV. I long ago decided that the easiest way to control my blood pressure was to read rather than watch. It was a lifestyle choice.
Mostly Trump has been tearing into the media and it’s attempt to enforce memes, narratives, and definitions upon the candidates.
It’s been very disappointing to watch other candidates like Cruz avoid this fight, this fight against their most powerful and implacable enemy.
A fight that would only do them good now and also later in the election.
But the time for that fight’s nearly coming to an end as primary voting approaches.
I’d guess Cruz should stick with whatever plan he is following.
Hopefully it includes showing more fire and personality soon.
Pray America wakes
Ted is building state campaign organizations at
a fast pace so it will serve him in good stead in
the long run.
While I could vote for Trump if he is the nominee
my choice is always with the Constitutional conservative,
and that choice is Ted Cruz.
Have just barely made it to the first turn in the horse race, needs to pick it up just a bit in October; October will thin the field more. November is the beginning of the back stretch
Trump isn’t sucking the life out of other candidates. He knows how to use media and takes advantage of it. It is a plus, not a minus.
It is up to the others to do the same.
This idea makes me think of LIttle League trophies for all where the losers get one too because everybody participating deserves one win or lose.
On the right hand side, there are two videos. The bottom one is the skit. I thought it showed some JohnnyCarson level potential from Jimmy Fallon, and would be interested in your opinion.
Don’t condition or link Cruz success or failure to Trump. Cruz has simply not caught on. He may be interesting to a small group of engaged people but for most people he is simply not compelling. He failed test to be transparent (amnesty), has made some bad decisions (supporting Obama on trade and Iran), and 500% increase in H1B. Trump didn’t make him do these.
Remember the meeting Cruz and Trump had in NYC about 6 weeks ago? They have both resisted tearing into each other since then and I suspect some sort of pact was made.
Cruz is steadily building state organizations while Trump’s short term popularity is killing donations to the other candidates which will pick them off (see Walker this week). Eventually the field will be thinned and when Trump implodes Cruz wild have the structure in place for success. Remember his fundraising to-date is better than Bush’s.
The notion of ‘sold out’ does touch me because that’s what the Uniparty of Republicans and Democrats seem to be about.
As to whether Trump will change things, mark me down as skeptical but I can deny his success at this point in attracting support....
Economic issues should be at the top and since 2008 this nation has been through something akin to a deep recession or depression, with statistics fudged and money electronically inflated and devalued to hide the situation.
