Agree 100%. Felon should not lose their rights for life.

Additionally, some things such as check kiting large amounts are felonies. Why exactly should check kiting ban you from owning a gun? For life? What is the “logic” behind that?

There is none as far as I can see.

i think the punishment should fit the crime. non violent felonies have nothing o do with firearms rights being taken away. violent felonies much much more so.

You dont have to commit a felony to lose your rights. Women can allege that they were abused by a husband, and obtain an order of protection and his guns are confiscated. No real evidence needed. It happened to a guy I know and he is screwed until the order gets lifted (if ever).
