I’m not surprised. Whitfield’s father died and his opponents accused his wife of illegally lobbying for the Humane Society.
Right now, word is that state Agriculture Commissioner James Comer is the GOP front-runner if he wants the job. I don’t know a great deal about him.

Things are off to a quick start in the district. State Agriculture Commissioner James Comer has announced, as has Whitfield District Director Michael Pape. Other possible GOP contenders include state Senator Max Wise and former White House aide Scott Jennings, who seems to be the Establishment RINO candidate if he runs.
