Vatican Source: Pope Blindsided By Meeting With Controversial Kentucky Clerk
CBS Local ^ | 10/01/2015 | Jay Levine

Posted on 10/02/2015 6:42:04 AM PDT by Responsibility2nd

(CBS) — Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich is on his way to Rome tonight. Before he left, he spoke out for the first time on that controversial meeting between Pope Francis and Kim Davis, the county clerk from Kentucky who refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses.

Cupich in essence told CBS 2 Chief Correspondent Jay Levine not to read too much into it.

A highly placed source inside the Vatican claims the Pope was blindsided.

The Vatican has since tried to distance Pope Francis from Davis. Vatican spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi said the pope’s meeting with Davis was not an endorsement of her decision to refuse to issue same-sex marriage licenses.

Atta Pope. His one decent gesture in this whole waste of time trip - and he walks it back.

Getting tossed in jail for defending your religious convictions is not something Francis finds objectionable. People think that as the Pope matters of faith and morals would be front and center in his heart but like all liberals, politics above all else.

Saw this coming. Can’t piss off the Pope or the Gaystapo. The latter has much disposable income that the church could use for the ‘common good’ of course.

Francis is not my favorite pope, but I smell Vatican underlings getting bombarded by liberal outrage and wanting to protect him from the conservative part of his soul. They think they are doing the Pope a favor, but the coverup is always worse than the crime—especially if the “crime”
isn’t a crime in the first place.

Sorry, I don’t buy the “blindsided” story. It’s like saying the President was blindsided by meeting on his schedule — sorry, like the President, the Pope has multiple handlers and they don’t allow a meeting to occur that they don’t want to occur.

Said it before and I'll say it again - this Pope is a leftist. As with all leftists, his politics is his religion and his religion is his politics.

Anything else is secondary, or only to be referenced if/when it can help advance the leftist agenda.

And, yes, I'm Catholic.

This makes no sense to me. Pope Francis had to be the one seeking to meet Kim Davis, the average person just can’t get a meeting with the Pope.

You hit the nail on the head. The Pope arranged this and now lacks the courage of his convictions. Hopefully this will be a short papacy.

Kim Davis was obviously summoned to see him by forces beyond her control. She probably was really told by the Pope she was an awful person, and that she stinks and the Pope doesn’t like her. She only said he was cool and supportive because she is afraid the order of Albino Assassin Monks will kill her for telling the awful truth.

It’s the only thing that makes sense.

“Cupich in essence told CBS 2 Chief Correspondent Jay Levine not to read too much into it”.

The only thing we can absolutely believe is leftist Cupich would not have walked across the street to meet with Davis. With that aside, you just don’t meet with the pope. He wanted to see this woman and he did. End of story. The adoring liberal media need to accept the fact that their hero is a Catholic and is CHANGING NOTHING IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.

Ssssuuuuurrrrreeeeee. Yeah, people who live three states away easily have access to the Vatican Embassy and the Pope. They just walk in off the street to shake his hand whenever he’s in town. /sarc

Exactly. Supposedly the Pope ASKED for the meeting. How could he have been “blindsided”.

Either he’s lying, confused, or the MSM (and Gaystapo elements in the Church) are frantically trying to spin this. Given what I’ve read about Francis, all of these are equally possible.

I kinda doubt Davis requested an audience with Frank. Why would she? She’s not Catholic. What would be her benefit?

She was summoned and she obliged.

I’m not Catholic. And I don’t like the Pope’s socialistic leftist politics. But if I was asked - and the trip was paid for - I would go pay Frank a visit.

But would I initiate it? No way.

"...like all liberals, politics above all else."

It goes beyond liberal...

Not only does he accept the communist desecrated crucifix, but he wears one around his neck!

And he's happy to do so!

Absotively correct, I gave him props for that.

Blindsided by Christian values. I read my Bible every evening, was just reading last night in the first couple chapters of Acts, Peter and the gang worshipped in houses, sharing everything, never any mention of funny hats, nobody addressed Peter as The Holy Father, if anybody had, Peter would have certainly rebuked them.

We are talking cult here, sorry folks.
