Many people don't realize that being 100% pro-life logically implies that one must likewise be 100% pro-death penalty. It's not at all a contradiction but is a key characteristic of Christian (and Jewish) Conservatism. In reality, the inconsistency is with the leftists who uniformly favor abortion and yet march in unthinking lockstep against the death penalty.
Applying pure reason in an Aristotelian sense, it's only the Conservative side that coherently adheres to the Laws of Nature created by Almighty God. Texas is largely a God-fearing state which is why it sets the standard for enforcing the death penalty, albeit with an overly long appeals process.
Texas is a hell of a bad place to run around acting a fool.
Good point, and indeed, that lockstep ought to be the point of attack. How come Democrat senators never fall out of step? Representatives? How can they be representing their constituents, if they are so amenable to rigid control by their caucus? And if they are susceptible of such control, isn't it dangerous to entrust them with our liberties and our government?
With anything?
