I would go out on a limb and say he killed him because he could. And as far as I am concerned, the World is a better place with him gone.

Why did he kill over $8? It was not the money. He saw an easy target and by looking at the pic this guy probably loved hurting people.
Saw an easy mark and killed him for the hell of it or possibly someone dared him. Life to people like him is not worth 10 cents.
