[...] Rubio went on to tell the crowd of his plan for the tripling of H-1B visas for skilled workers, which he hopes to achieve by seeing the passage of his bipartisan I-Squared (Immigration Innovation) bill which would be responsible for the outsourcing of even more American jobs to the immigrants who hold them.
The I-Squared bill has received tremendous backing from tech giants like Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Larry Ellison of Oracle and Bob Iger of Disney. Zuckerbergs FWD.us lobbying arm has also played a key role in pushing for these H-1B reforms. FWD.us President Todd Schulte recently falsely suggested that for every H-1B visa that is granted, nearly two jobs are created for native-born Americans.
Every year, the United States graduates twice the number of students with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and IT degrees as there are jobs available.
A growing number of large America corporations are abusing these H-1B visas by forcing U.S. workers to train their foreign replacements who are willing to work for far less compensation. Toys R Us recently joined the ranks of Southern California Edison, Disney, and Harley Davidson by being complicit in this display of massive corporate greed at the cost of American workers livelihood. And at least one single-digit-polling conservative:
"Cruz: Proud to Defend Trump, Expand H-1B Visas For Educated, Talented Job Creators" (July 7 2015) - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3309118/posts
The fact that it is effective is not. FWIW, there were slightly over 60,000 Americans with resident permits in Japan when we left in 2002. There are slightly fewer than 50,000 now.
So the overall effect of the law is to lessen the need for foreign imports, even if some of that reduction may due to economic reasons or substitution by other foreign groups. We still remain #3 behind only Koreans and Chinese.
I am making no assumptions. Trump may not be a boot licker but eventually he will take a position as he starts getting more specific that some/most will not like. He is like any other candidate that is not “pure”.
I am neutral on Trump, I can take him or not. He is not my first choice but I will vote (as opposed to staying home) if he is on the ticket.
For many FReepers (like me) H-1B is not an issue of abstract theoretical "purity" but of the bread and butter they put on their families' tables.
He thinks he can buy more votes than that with Free Traitor campaign contributions.
My “non negotiable” list:
Illegal Immigration/Border
Abortion
Support Israel
My “hit most of them” list:
Repeal Barry Care
H1B
Trade Deficit
Get out of education
Energy policy
Should do this the way Japan does it they seem to have it right, but to be honest why do we need the H1B when we have the Free Market or so I hear on FR a lot?
Yep. Same for Cruz. I'll just stay home on election day if American jobs destroyers are our only choice.
I am not a union lover, but if ever there was a case for one.....
Me, I'll vote Constitution Party.
There's a good reason for that - the former employees are not inclined to talk.
In general, large corporations provide a very good severance package, and they are your most recent employer, so a future employer will pay especially close attention to what they say about you.
In situations like this, your former employer will require you to sign some kind of non-disclosure or non-disparagement agreement before you get your severance package.
Legally, your former employer will almost never pursue you in court if you break your word.
But, that corporation still has the last laugh. When a future employer contacts them about you, their response will have a big, red letter “Not Eligible Rehire” stamped on it.
Most future employers will stop reading right there and toss your resume in the trash can.
