I don't necessarily agree that loss of the right to bear arms is the appropriate "punishment" for this woman.

For one thing, we can't expect a person to always accurately perceive what is happening and what the consequences of their actions will be. In this particular case, the shooter only caused property damage. Just as we should hold her responsible if a bystander was hit, we should be willing to cut her some slack when no such damage was done.

If she is unable to articulate justification to a judge, and, in the opinion of the judge, she cannot be "trained" to conduct herself appropriately, then the remedy might be to disarm her. The burden of proof before such punishment is meted out should be on the judicial system.

I have active Ranger as an instructor. We talk and go thru a number of scanarios regarding what to do in this or that situation. Clearly,you rarely have a confrontation needing force.
