ATLANTA (AP) — Donald Trump is expanding his paid campaign staff into several Southern states that will be key to selecting the Republican presidential nominee.

Trump's advisers say it's a sign he's committed to a long race, despite suggestions he's reconsidering his bid.

He now has paid staff in South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Trump will be in metro Atlanta for a rally Saturday that is expected to draw thousands. He set the high mark for Republicans this campaign when he drew about 30,000 to an Alabama rally in August.

All that stereotyping conventional wisdom is out the window

Trump pretty much owns Dixie

The combover carpetbagger.....whatever....it’s his

For now

And folks know he’s no southern baptist deer hunting war veteran culture warrior but they admire his grit

And he doesn’t apologize to those trying to destroy our culture and who especially demonize the social conservatism exemplified by the South since forever

We know he’s flawed but he fights and doesn’t walk shite back..

Like a three legged pitbull with heart or a gorgeous giant head puffy show bulldog....which one you want in the front yard in a bad neighborhood?

And he's not owned by anybody.

It matters little at this point who the Republican President is if the party continues to be so against the folks that elect them! If the Republican who get the nod should know anything it is that they should stop listening to the money folks and listen to the people!

“... despite suggestions he’s reconsidering his bid.”

Notice how campaign slurs are factored in as fact.

At least he loves America, which is more one can say about the current community organizing occupant. He’s not a lifelong politician and is not being paid off by special interests.

But . . . But . . . He has no ground game.

At this stage, 1/2 to 2/3rds of the ground game is devoted to fund-raising. Having ready dough, and the ability to get free media coverage at will is like spotting him the first 1/4 mile in a horse race.

Exactly! I was going to point this out, but you got to it pronto.

What “facts” is this based on?

Wishful thinking doesn't something a fact no matter how hard you wish.

Me and Mr GG2 are still slightly sick with a bug but are going to leave in about an hour to slog through the rain to the Trump rally and meet up with our friends to watch his speech.

No it makes ALL the difference who the president is. Trump, Carson, and to a lesser extent Cruz are not beholden to the GOP for anything.

I asked the question here a month ago what happens when Trump wins? I think he is the only one who can go over the heads of congress. There are many ways to do this, but to SOME degree it won't matter who is speaker is.

What’s with the repeated “PAID staff” remark I wonder? What...as if Hillary doesn’t pay her immediate staff? I understand “volunteer” vs “salaried”, but why bring attention to it? It’s the little things we can’t let them get away with.

Trump's advisers say it's a sign he's committed to a long race...

But, but, but the press tells us - every 8 days - that Trump's getting out of the race... Could the MSM be lying?

The media is desperate to fuel the false narrative that Trump is on the verge of dropping out of the race. This is belied by the fact that Trump continues to cross the country (and not just NH and Iowa) to hold large rallies and is practically every day giving interviews and dominating the news coverage of the presidential campaign.

When was the last time Jebbie Bush or Shrillay Clinton held a rally anywhere? I can't think of the last one. Yet Trump has done several this week alone including one in Georgia later today.

With boundless energy, Trump travels around the nation and is constantly giving TV interviews. A book is coming out later this month. This is not a campaign winding down but a campaign ramping up.
