Brown’s treason is in his being a knowing accessory to the Mexican’s conquest of California. Many will live to see the formal raising of the Mexican flag over California’s public buildings.
While that comment is justified, we can go back to around 1990 to trash every other California Governor who did exactly the same thing when it came to illegals.
This is not defense of Brown whatsoever.
What these men did, should earn them prison time.
Maybe we should give it back?
The Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo signed in 1848 ended the Mexican War and it gave the United States the Rio Grande River as a boundary for Texas, and it also gave the US ownership of California and a large area comprising roughly half of New Mexico, most of Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Wyoming and Colorado. Mexicans in those annexed areas had the choice of relocating to within Mexico’s new boundaries or receiving American citizenship with full civil rights. Over 90% chose to become US citizens.
