The false Palestinian narrative of one-sided victimhood is a major hindrance to all peace efforts. Global actors must help the Palestinians move beyond wallowing in self-pity and ritual bashing of Israel, and towards difficult compromises.

The world loves victims. Specifically, third world victims. I always thought Israel made a mistake by not tying the Palestinian issue to the 800,000 Jews who were kicked out of the Arab world in 1948. By not doing that we made it easy for the Palestinians to portray us as foreign interlopers instead of indigenous
