As of 5pm, Germany has now exited the Schengen Zone, Austria will now follow suit obviously.
If you notice, the German’s are talking about enacting the border controls along their border with Poland and the Czech Republic also.
The CSU hold the cards here and they’ve played them. I think Horst Seehofer has Merkel over a barrel, I think he’s warned her, do as I say or else my party the CSU will pull out of the Grand Coalition.
The CDU-CSU might be heading for a divorce, they’ve been together for 70 years. This would be a huge political earthquake in Germany, I think most of the CDU don’t want that to happen, so Merkel is going to have to be thrown overboard to save the CDU-CSU partnership and of course to save Germany and Europe.
