White House walks back "60 Minutes" comments on Hillary's emails

White House spox Josh Earnest backtracked Obama's blanket assertions WRT Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server. Asked outright by Steve Kroft on CBS' "60 Minutes," Obama said flatly, "I don't think it posed a national security problem."

Asked how the President was able to make such a definitive statement even as the FBI investigates the server's security, Earnest clarified that "The President was making an observation about what we know so far, that Secy Clinton herself turned over a bunch of email to the State Dept with differing assessments about what's included in there," Earnest said.

The President's comment "certainly was not an attempt, in any way, to undermine the importance or independence of the ongoing FBI investigation," Earnest said, stressing that Obama "has a healthy respect for the kinds of independent investigations now being conducted."

Obama also rejected the notion that Clinton's email practices compared to cases of individuals prosecuted over misuse of classified information. "We don't get an impression that there was purposely efforts ... to hide something or to squirrel away information," he said.

"The police acted stupidly".

It's actually the loudmouth in the White House who repeatedly acts stupidly, inserting himself where he doesn't belong.

Like in the White House...

LET'S TRY TO FILL-IN THE WH AIRHEADS--When Hillary got the job she was supposedly "trained" in the ins and outs of protecting classified ntl security data.

AS FREEPER SERKIT POSTED Attention investigators:

<><> Who transported Hillary’s server from NY to NJ? Did the Secret Service (who Hillary insists had been guarding it since it was really Bill’s Library/Foundation asset) accompany and supervise the transport of the server?

<><> Did Platte River Networks, just take her State Dept server, lock it up, not power it up, connect it to the internet, or not have it functioning as an active email server?

<><> Was there continuity of server activity between May 2013 to August 2015, or did the server go off-line starting in June 2013?

<><> Who received actual server in NJ - the name of the Platte River Networks employee/technician? What WAS it - make/model/form factor, etc.?

<><> Did the Clinton Foundation (or issuer of the RFP on Hilary’s behalf) indicate that the company that would provide data services qualified to handle national-security-level data?

<><> In various interviews and reports, Platte River Networks repeatedly stated they were to “upgrade, manage, and secure” the server. What - specifically - does that mean?

<><> What did Hillary’s RFP/contract order the data center to do specifically?

<><> Does Platte River Networks have sufficient security clearance to handle this type of contract? Did Datto--the backup company?

<><> What were the firewall protocols in place at the time?

<><> Who - by name - had access to the server, and the administrative authorization to wipe and cleanse the server? When was that done?

<><> Does “upgrade, manage, and secure” the server mean that they PRN was given the task to remove all data from the server when it received it in June 2013?

<><> Was malware or antivirus also on the server?

<><> Was the inherent firewall, virus protection, or operating system “upgraded, managed, and secured”?

<><> Any incidents reported such as DOS attack, hacking, etc.? What were they? How were they resolved? P> <><> Other than arranging for the server to be moved from NY to NJ, what was the Denver company contracted to do in relation to maintaining the server?

<><> What tangible evidence is there that the server arrived in functioning condition, was being used as an email server, was “upgraded, managed, and secured”, then wiped just prior to seizure by the FBI?

<><> Were normal and regular backup procedures executed on the server, and where would the back ups be kept?

<><> If no backups were taken, was there a disaster recovery location?

<><> Where was that? If no backups and no disaster recovery, what was the plan if the equipment failed or found to have been wiped of any functionality?

<><> Were any foreign nationals employed at Platte River Networks, or at backup company. Datto, that had access to the Clinton server?

<><> Does the WH know the order to "cut backup" was issued after a court subpoenaed the info?

He lives in a parallel universe-—where everything is hunky-dory—where everything is as he wishes it could be.

The most asinine comment was when he attempted to harden his gonads in the face of Putin’s decimating ISIS—when he said he himself made “America safer.”

Let’s hope Rep Gowdy asks Hillary those questions.

And does NOT accept this as the answer: “I don’t recall. I was busy cleaning up Bush’s messes.”

......he made it clear what the investigations conclusion will be in advance....

Good point..

Airhead thinks we don't know he's illegally manipulating the investigations behind the scenes.

CNN REPORTS: White House spox Josh Earnest backtracked Obama's stupid blanket assertions that Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server did not pose a national security problem. "We don't get an impression that there was purposely efforts ... to hide something or to squirrel away information."

========================================

Official State Dept employees can’t hit up folks for bribes,
but private citizens can (hat tip FReeper Gunpowder green)

The conniving Clintons strike again.

<><> Sid Blumenthal was banned from govt employment but, as a private citizen, he was privy to classified State Dept emails while simultaneously employed by the Clinton Foundation. Most shocking was Blumenthal's ability to get SoS Hillary to manipulate US foreign policy for Sid's business interests in Libya.

==================================================

<><> Hillary's COS Cheryl Mills was not an official State Dept employee but, as a private citizen, she was privy to classified info that she could ..and did..use to benefit the Clinton Foundation.

Internal State Dept emails WRT African matters received by the State Dept were routinely passed on to the Clinton Foundation by then-COS Cheryl Mills (now a top honcho in Hillary's 2016 bid).

Mills forwarded State Dept emails to Amitabh Desai, the Clinton Foundation's director of foreign policy; one such email had been directed to the Assistant Secy of State for African Affairs.

Mills told Desai she was sharing the State Department email with him because Bill Clinton was "in contact" with Paul Kagame, president of Rwanda. "[Bill Clinton] has been talking about giving Kagame a plenary role at CGI," Desai said in response, referring to the Clinton Global Initiative.

So why would Bill offer Kagame a plenary role at the CGI?

The Congo's "Freeport Mines" (copper, gold, cobalt) is a major Clinton Foundation donor, giving between $250-500,000, according to donor records. The Congolese government saw its stake in the mine climb by just 2.5 percent in 2010 after Hillary's State Dept conducted talks that were pumped as being "in support of Freeport Mines," the Financial Times reported that year. (SOURCE floppingaces.net)

NOTE WELL Once upon a time, Hillary took issue w/ African govt corruption as a US Senator, but as Secy of State, Hillary looked the other way as the money poured into the Clinton Global Initiative.

Let’s hope Rep Gowdy asks Hillary the relevant server questions. And does NOT accept Hillary's canned reponse: “I don’t recall. I was busy cleaning up Bush’s messes.”

Gowdy should ask her:

<><> Why did Obama order the FBI to confiscate all of her servers----nine taken to date.

<><> Does Obama now have all of the computers which store details of the Clintons' wealth---numbered offsore accounts, locations of safe deposit boxes, income form global business interests in mining, arms, uranium, oil?

‘We don’t get an impression that there was purposely efforts [to hide something ]’

This is standard grammar for Obama—and no doubt one reason that all his academic records are sealed.

POTUS is the final arbiter (aka "decider") on what is classified and what is not. He can declassify anything at anytime if he wishes. His statement on 60 Minutes effectively exonerated HRC and her minions of any security violations.

That they are walking this back is interesting.
