Today, marijuana is cheap and easy to get in California. But, new laws legalizing the retail production and distribution of medical cannabis will might finally DETER people from pot! Red tape, the new weapon in the drug war. If we want to destroy ISIS we should issue them licenses and impose environmental reviews on their training camps!

The pot growers will simply ignore this. It will impact the enormous industry that has grown up to support grow operations though. Makers of nutrients, lighting, growth media, watering systems, etc. will all have to deal with bureaucrats now.
Marijuana should be regulated the same as cigarettes...control THC levels the same as tar and nicotine, cigarette form only, no candies/cookies/waxes.
Remember, legalization means regulation!

Right. I’m sure the street dealers will just get tied up in knots trying to adhere to all of these new regulations. The illegal growers too. It’s such a sad thing to see such a thriving, new industry reduced to penury by such ridiculous and unnecessary over-regulation.

No, they'll be outcompeted by the legal sellers and growers, as happened to bootleggers when Prohibition ended.
There is a glimmer hope in the form of statewide propositions to legalize recreational marijuana in California. Our state laws allow citizens to put issues to a plebiscite and put the will of the people over Sacramentos vested interests.
