Christie drops to single digits in New Jersey poll

Support for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's (R) presidential campaign has dropped to single digits in his home state, according to a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll released Thursday.

Christie is supported by just 5 percent of New Jersey Republican voters, tying for fifth place in the poll with former businesswoman Carly Fiorina and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

In August, he was supported by 12 percent of the state's Republicans. In August 2014, Christie had 41 percent support.

Sixty-seven percent of all New Jerseyans say Christie should end his presidential campaign. A little more than a quarter, 27 percent, say he should continue.

The emergence of candidates such as businessman Donald Trump, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) have contributed to a loss in interest for Christie.

Trump is supported by 32 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters in New Jersey, followed by Carson and Rubio at 13 percent each and Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) at 6 percent.

The top issues all voters listed for Christie's low rankings recently included his job as governor, his attitude and character and perceptions of untrustworthiness.

The latest survey of 935 adults conducted Oct. 3 to Oct. 10 via landlines and cellphones has a margin of error of 3.2 points. The margin of error for the 273 Republican voters is 6.6 points.

They said he was too big to fail — but they were wrong.

rooting for Dallas and hugging obummer and blocking a bridge out of spite was too much,

BUT we should study how he got 20 percent of the black vote.

i bet for pres he would get 3 percent.

but he did get 20 for gov, and he was tough on entitlements.

if Trump/Cruz can get 20 percent, black, it’s over!!! :)

I loved Christie after Mark Levin spoke on air with him for putting away four muslim immigrants targeting NJ-based military for death at Ft Dix.

Then came the Hurricane Sandy hug & Obama’s 2012 numbers rose before Romney could stutter.

It’s hard to believe he’s doing that well in the polls. I would figure he would be at 0%
