They were preparing for war, but that doesn’t mean they were committed to war. I’ve worked on detailed war plans - and none of them have turned into reality.

You do not just wake up one day and start fighting a war 10,000 miles away.

[[They were preparing for war, but that doesn’t mean they were committed to war.]]

Exactly- It’s very likely that evidence against Saddam was mounting by the day during these years, and Bush was preparing for war and asked for nations to commit SHOULD it come down to actual war- Saddam was violating international treaties, and was continually firing on our jets In the area during these times, and exclaiming he was wanting a war with us- That and the fact that we had Iraqi citizen after another testifying before congress that Saddam was committing MASSIVE human rights violations against his own people, plus reports coming out about wmd’s and seeing him use those wmd’s against his own people-

And from what I understand, The leaked wikileaks stuff show that Saddam actually did have them-

She can blatt all she likes about the agreement between Tony and George, but the fact is, as you say, that we were simply preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best- Smart strategy no matter how you slice it
