Trump triples down on George W. Bush’s responsibility for 9/11

Donald Trump says he doesn’t flat out blame former president George W. Bush that the Sept. 11 terror attacks happened on his watch. But he can think of three reasons why one could hold Bush responsible.

And, he might add, they are three things a President Trump would do very differently.

“You always have to look to the person at the top,” Trump said Saturday in a telephone interview. “Do I blame George Bush? I only say that he was the president at the time, and you know, you could say the buck stops here.”

So why might one consider Bush responsible?

No. 1: Bush’s immigration policy. “We had very weak immigration laws,” Trump said, adding that perhaps if Bush had had a Trump-style immigration policy, replete with “the strong laws that I’m wanting, these terrorists wouldn’t have been in the country.”

It wasn’t a lie if all the intelligence told him that. Even Clinton went on record saying it was so.

After the first comment, there were a lot of Jeb wannabees here getting sand in their groins because facts upset them.

I’m a Cruizer, but trump spoke nothing but the truth. If some Freepers don’t like the truth, they should check out Democratic underground where that sort of attitude predominates. For a lot of them it would be a better fit anyway.

“When stuff goes wrong under Obama, Obama blames obama’s predecessor

For stuff that went wrong under Bush, lots of freepers blame Bush’s predecessor

Do I see a pattern?”

The correct answer is: ‘C. All of the globalists above.’

Politically he's pushing Jeb Bush into his grave. How does Jeb Bush possibly defend his brother without looking like he's bashing the clintons? He has to defend his brother.

And that's really why Bush can't defend this. He's politically aligned with the Clintons.

The OBVIOUS way for him to defend this is to say "Yup, Donald is absolutely right. My brother had been President for 9 months and so technically it was his watch. But it was because of HILLARY and BILL CLINTONS inaction and policies over the previous 8 years that allowed Islmic terrorism to flourish and ultimately led to 9/11. So really the blame for 9/11 should go to Islamic terrorists and Hillary and Bill Clinton who allowed it to flourish."

Donald is doing us a huge favor by targeting Jeb Bush on this. He KNOWS Jeb will never answer the obvious way and it exposes Jeb for what he is.

Actually, your phrasing is inconsistent.

When things went wrong under Bush, did Bush blame Clinton? No. I don't think he ever did.
When things went wrong under Bush, did the media blame Clinton? No. I don't think they did
When things went wrong under Bush, did Freepers blame Clinton? Yeah, we did that.

When things went wrong under Obama, did Obama blame Bush? Yup. All the time.
When things went wrong under Obama, did the media blame Bush? Yup. All the time.
When things went wrong under Obama, do Freepers blame Bush? Quite often, yes.

Freepers are pretty consistent about trying to blame people who deserve some of the blame. Bush was a gentleman and Obama and the media choose favorites.

Freepers are pretty consistent about disloyalty when the band wagon rolls past and they jump on.

But, knowing all of the crap that Clinton did, Bush did nothing to turn the tables upside down to eradicate it the moment he got into office.

I am no fan of GWB, but if you'll recall his transition into office was rather turbulent. First there was the recall debacle on full tilt. Then there were the Democrats stalling on every appointment, particularly Ashcroft. There were even repairs to the White House because the children had trashed the place. My take is that Bush didn't get January 20 conditions until June. That leaves three months to fix a gutted military and and intelligence system. None of that is his fault.

Yes, Bush was admittedly unlikely to address the immigration system, but even if he had it is unlikely in the extreme that in three months anyone could turn that bureaucracy sufficiently to have deported all of the visa overstays in three months. Hence, to call 911 his fault just doesn't pass the smell test. It's typical Trump boolsheet.

Freepers are by nature selective about consistency

But Clinton does bear more responsibility

He had Osama in his sights many times but declined both fearing political risk with his blame America base

Bush was arguably wrong about Iraq but he went right to war after 9/11 and our enemies feared us

Today our foreign policy is Bil Ayers meets Cyrus Vance on Seconal

Bush and the GOPe biggest and possibly fatal failure for America was immigration which will make the US a non white majority nation and create basically an Amerindian Hispano plurality culture

And Spending

So he laid the way for our demise through patrician naivete at the same time he waged war on our behalf

Kinda cool from a Begala viewpoint

No Bush no Obama especially in 2012

Today’s demographics have been so radically altered by Bush Rove and much worsened by Obama

It’s a very tall order to win nationally now

I think Trump is the only one who can

Noted and acknowledged in my many posts before but he would not use the bully pulpit. That we knew the problems were pretty much public, if he knew the threat was great, it was not raised.

As a Vet, he never looked to make his affection for them a public display or chit. It was always about them and never about him.

He said he is dealing with the Republican opponents first. Then he will target the Democrats. Nevertheless, he has begun to say some things already:

No if you wish to be accurate what caused the mess today was Obama premature withdraw from Iraq so he could claim “He ended Bush’s war.”

Everyone told O that we needed to leave some training and logistics support that the Iraqis were not ready to run things alone yet but 0, in his typical narcissistic fashion, decided HE knew better.
