Clinton did wholesale firings the first day he took office, Bush should have done the same. The fact he could not his appointments through congress immediately did not mean he should have kept the incompetent treacherous traitorous Clinton staff in place. He should have had enough staff hired and ready to go before he took office, and fired every single member of the higher level Clinton hires immediately, especially Justice and National Security. It was inexcusable, and it was his duty to have this done, no matter how difficult. I remember a lot of people questioned this at the time, and wondered why he did not, and there quite a few editorials in non-leftist publications as well. It was if Al Gore had been elected, everything stayed the same. Bush shares some responsibility for the WTC, although most of the blame belongs to Clinton.

Bush’s desired appointments, then, would have been temporary, and the appointees faced the very real possibility of being out of a job at the opening of the next session of Congress.

In thatRepublicans more often have successful lives outside the public sector, while for a dammocrap, a government job may be what is between them and flipping burgers, and Republicans are more likely to have spouses, children, and homes that they own, many of Bush’desired appointees couldn’t afford to take the appointments on a temporary basis, since to do so would mean to risk their financial well-being on an uncertain vote in the Senate.

But for a dammocrap being appointed in a dammocrap regime even 9 or 10 months in a political gig may let them sleep indoors for a change, enable them to settle with IRS on back taxes, let them catch up on their student loan payments, and get them off food stamps. And if they don’t get confirmed by the Senaye, having the cachet of a federal appointment on their resumes, they can land a gig being a lecturer of politics at a liberal university.was

I think it was part of the Bush/Rove “new tone” thing.

Agree 100%, but I’m not sure what that has to do with the FACT that Trump DID NOT BLAME BUSH for 9/11 as the MSM and some FReepers keep saying.

Now Trump says it wouldn’t have happened under his watch. Well, we will never know. He believes he would have acted differently than Bush before the attack and your Post sheds a lot of light of what Bush did not do.

He didn’t come into office kicking ass and taking names, he came in humbled by the Florida Recount debacle and did everything he could to go along to get along because he bought the Liberal spin of not being a Legitimate President.

A Democrat President taking over from a Republican President would have used a Fire Hose to get rid of the previous Administrations people and Obama is living proof of that.

Obama put every Marxist wannabe in charge and the Republicans in Congress did and continue to do nothing but give their stamp of approval on every one of them.

In his own way, Bush bought the old reach across the aisle crap hook line and sinker and his Administration was filled with nothing but Rats and RINO’s.
