Christmas tree goes up in front of City Hall in Jersey City

It's still 11 days until Halloween, but City Hall already looks ready for a few choruses of "O Tannenbaum."

Workers today planted a 20-foot Norway spruce from a Pennsylvania nursery outside the entrance of the Grove Street municipal building, directly in front of the Soldiers & Sailors Monument.

It's the same kind of tree usually seen at Rockefeller Center every year, though a tad shorter — Rockefeller Center's 2014 Norway spruce was 85-feet tall.

Things aren't going to get too festive in front of City Hall, though. City spokesman Ryan Jacobs said the tree won't be lit until closer to Christmas

I worked at Lazrd at Rock Plaza for over ten years.

This is NOT the same kind of tree as is i front of Rock.

I think the secular progressives have come to terms with Christmas trees, since you can adorn them with secularist imagery and avoid offending anyone other than tree-huggers woth those. The Muslims accept these by associating the star with their moon god.

Nativity sets, meanwhile, have been effectively declared illegal by the ACLU, CAIR, and other Bolshevist institutions. Anyone who puts out a nativity set on their property is an admirable hero, but needs to take into account that liberals and Muslims will attempt to damage their property or kill them.
