Wow, RIP Mr. Smith. COD?
His ultimately not that great showing was a big disappointment in 2012. Polls gave him a good shot to win. Wouldn’t have matter anyway since he’s passed away and the Wolf bastard is in Harrisburg.
Anyway, Maryland, tough, especially in a POTUS year, very tough. Perfect storm situation is needed to produce a real chance
1)Need a real candidate, thanks to this lady getting in we do.
2)Need a non awful showing by the top of ticket, if Hillary takes the state by 20 points that’s no good, Scott Brown a popular incumbent in MA couldn’t overcome Obama’s margin there.
3)Need Donna Edwards to win the rat nomination, radical Afro-American democrats like her can lose moderate Whites who usually vote dem, look at the last Gov race. If Cummings runs in the primary and splits the Black vote then Van Hollen will take the nomination for sure. Though a recent poll suggests I’m wrong and Cummings would actually win the nomination in 3 way race. He’s nuts, he’d also be good to run against.
Dan Bongino.
He moved to Florida and has expressed interest running down there.
As I told CF privately, Edwards is leading Van Hollen in the primary so far. I believe Blacks make up a majority of MD Democrat primary voters now, so it’s going to be increasingly difficult for White candidates to get a majority unless there’s a divided field. I can’t see Cummings getting into the race unless he could also run for his House seat (which he can’t). Why would he sacrifice his safe seat and seniority to hand Van Hollen the nomination ?
