Freedom Caucus Majority Backs Paul Ryan for House Speaker
NY Times ^ | 10-21-15 | DAVID M. HERSZENHORN and EMMARIE HUETTEMAN

A strong majority of anti-establishment conservatives in the House Freedom Caucus voted on Wednesday night to support Representative Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin for House speaker, assuring that he will have the votes to secure the post next week and averting a leadership crisis for Republicans.

Mr. Ryan indicated that he was prepared to seize the gavel and try to bring unity to his party, which has been riven over how House leaders exert authority over members. That fight had become so bitter that it forced the resignation of Speaker John A. Boehner and derailed the candidacy of the majority leader, Representative Kevin McCarthy, to replace him.

“I’m grateful for the support of a supermajority of the House Freedom Caucus,” Mr. Ryan said in a statement, referring to the two-thirds vote he received.

The apparent coalescing of support behind Mr. Ryan, 45, comes at a critical moment for Congress, with votes expected to begin as soon as next week over raising the government’s borrowing authority, the first of several pressing fiscal matters.

I would pay money to a fund to get rid of Ryan.

That said, the issue with healthcare is one that conservatives are refusing to admit: Donald Trump is a moderate on health care. He said so. He said he wouldn’t let the poor die in the streets.

He’s conservative on the border, taxes, ISIS, immigration, jobs, etc., but he’s always been a moderate on health care for the poor.

In my opinion, he wouldn’t have supported the clean repeal touted by the freedom caucus. It never would have reached his desk, though, because Murkowski, Collins, Portman, and other senators would have killed it in the senate before it got to him.

I can’t argue with any of that. Worse than Trump being a healthcare moderate, however, is the way Obama and the Leftists hooked the majority of Americans on government healthcare. Obama’s legacy is not quite as trivial as some would like to portray it.

Obama’s legacy is real and disturbing. His weaponization of the intel agencies is the road to totalitarianism. And, sadly, I think he’d be proud of that.

Obama would be absurdly proud of the US becoming a Leftist totalitarian regime. The ‘malignant’ part of Obama’s personality disorder—Malignant Narcissism—means exactly that. His virulent ill will toward any but his most sycophantic admirers grows progressively worse with every passing year.

I have considered him insane at times and lawless.

His secret regard for islam was a clear divergence from reality given his other social positions.

Obama’s love of Islam is an outgrowth of his childish hatred of the West. He sees himself and Islam as equally superior to all the evil he associates with the West—Colonialism being foremost.

I wonder if he’d throw himself off the building when they toss the other gays?

Supposedly Obama said back in his Indonesian days that he’d be POTUS, or a similarly exalted position/entity, exactly because he’d get Secret Service—or its equivalent—protection. He’s unable to feel empathy, so he doesn’t care about others. His foundational premise, however, is, ‘It will never happen to me.’

I’m not saying Sooners basketball players are dumb, but the coach is dressing six players for this Saturdays game. The rest will dress themselves.
